Final casting has been confirmed for The Acting Company's benefit reading of British drama The Chalk Garden by Enid Bagnold, starring Angela Lansbury. The one-night-only event will take place on Monday, June 19 at 7 PM, at The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, 68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues, presented by The Acting Company in association with Andrew Bryan and Opus Blue Productions.
Alan Pally, an authority on Tony and Academy Award-winning British playwright Peter Shaffer ("Amadeus," "Equus"), will be guest speaker at the Playhouse's Sunday Symposium following the Sunday, June 4, 3 p.m. matinee performance of Shaffer's comedy "Lettice and Lovage."
The Tony Award-nominated comedy, "Lettice and Lovage," will open Westport Country Playhouse's 87th Season, written by Peter Shaffer, author of "Amadeus," and directed by Mark Lamos, Playhouse artistic director. The play runs from May 30 through June 17.
