BWW Review: THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME/DORIAN GRAY at Budapest Operetta Theatre

Budapest Operetta Theatre is one of the most important venues in Budapest when it comes to musical theatre. Its huge repertoire ranges from classic operetta (The Merry Widow or The Riviera Girl aka Die Csardasfurstin) to modern musicals (mostly Sylvester Levay pop-musicals along with some classical show tunes). Two of the brand-new musical productions from the theatre deals with the ever-lasting questions of good and bad, or to rephrase it, which is the more important, the outer appearance or the inner good?

USM Theater Brings 2017-2018 Season To A Close With THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST

The University of Southern Maine Department of Theatre closes the 2017-2018 season with the upcoming production of "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde, directed by Andrew Harris. Opening on Friday, April 20 and running through Sunday, April 29, all performances will take place on the USM Gorham Campus in historic Russell Hall. Special school matinees for grades 6 and up will take place on April 24 and 27 at 10:00 a.m, reservations are required.

"The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde, directed by Department of Theatre and Dance faculty member James R. Taulli opens this Friday, April 20th, and runs through May 6, 2018 in the Young Theatre on campus. Jack and Algernon each "reinvent the truth" to woo the women who have captured their hearts. When the gentlemen are coerced to reveal their web of lies and reveal themselves to their ladies, being 'earnest' takes new meaning.

THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST Opens At Hale Centre Theatre

Hale Centre Theatre's season continues with the opening of a top-notch revival of Oscar Wilde's endlessly entertaining comedy The Importance of Being Earnest.  Directed by Cambrian James, this sparkling comedy which the London Telegraph calls "the most perfect comedy in the English language" plays April 5 through May 12, 2018.  Tickets are $32.00 and are on sale now to the general public. Discounts are available for children and groups of 10 or more.

Sacred Fools Announce Extension of World Premiere Play THE ART COUPLE

The Sacred Fools Theater Company is delighted to present the World Premiere of The Art Couple by Brendan Hunt (Absolutely Filthy), directed by Lauren Van Kurin. The comic mayhem begins Friday, February 16 and runs through Sunday, March 17 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 7pm (with the exception of Sunday, March 4 - no performance that date). The show will be performed in the Black Box Theater of the Broadwater Theater Complex.
