Theatre Royal Bath Announces Opening Productions For Summer Season 2018

Theatre Royal Bath today announces the opening productions for its summer season 2018 across the Ustinov Studio and Main House. Launching at the Ustinov Studio will be the highly acclaimed, Bristol based theatre company, Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory with their new production of Henry V directed by Elizabeth Freestone. Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband will transfer to Theatre Royal Bath's Main House direct from the West End, marking the first production in Jonathan Church's 2018 summer season. Priority booking will open to members on Saturday 10 February at 10am, with general on-sale from 21 February. The full programme will be announced in due course.

INTAR Theatre & Puerto Rico's Casa Cruz De La Luna Company Present THE MARQUIS DE SADE IS AFRAID OF THE SEA

Puerto Rico's acclaimed Casa Cruz de la Luna Theatre Company and INTAR Theatre will present The Marquis de Sade is Afraid of the Sea, as part of INTAR Theatre's NewWorks Lab.  Performances will be Friday, February 23rd at 8PM, Saturday, February 24th at 8PM, and Sunday, February 25th at 4PM at INTAR Theatre, 500 West 52nd Street at 10th Avenue.  Tickets are available for $5  and may be purchased at intartheatre.org or by calling 212-352-3101.  Please note: production contains explicit adult content and nudity.

California State University, Fullerton begins the Spring 2018 season with Alan Ayckbourn's comedy, "Taking Steps." Seasoned professional Mark Ramont directs the production, which runs February 23-March 18, 2018 in the Hallberg Theatre on campus. The comedy centers around the tale of Roland, a hard-drinking, irascible tycoon who is interested in buying an old Victorian house that was once a brothel.

Guy Chamber's THE SELFISH GIANT To Be Co-Produced By Royal & Derngate

As Kathy Burke's Lady Windermere's Fan, starring Jennifer Saunders and Samantha Spiro, plays to packed houses, Classic Spring is delighted to announce that Guy Chambers' new folk opera, The Selfish Giant, will be co-produced by Royal & Derngate, Northampton, and directed by multi-award-winning director Bill Buckhurst. The limited run of lightly-staged performances will run at Royal & Derngate 4 April - 7 April, before moving to the Vaudeville from 10 - 14 April. Jonathan Church will direct An Ideal Husband, the third production in the year-long celebration of Oscar Wilde at the Vaudeville Theatre. An Ideal Husband will play at the Vaudeville Theatre 20 April to 14 July 2018, before opening the Theatre Royal Bath Summer Season on 18 July to 4 August 2018.

DORIAN GREY Moves to '70s NYC in City Lit Adaptation

Paul Edwards's world premiere adaptation of THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY, Oscar Wilde's story of a man who sells his soul for unaging beauty, transports the story from the novel's setting of Victorian-era England to 1970's New York City, during the dawning of the AIDS and crack cocaine epidemics. THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY, to be directed by Andrea J. Dymond, will feature Javier Ferreira (Shakespeare in HER MAJESTY'S WILL and Henry Olney in NORTHANGER ABBEY, both at Lifeline) in the title role. Gabriel Fries, who recently appeared in Nothing Without a Company's THE KID THING, will be Basil, the painter of the eponymous portrait that on the canvas not only shows its subject aging, but also shows Gray's sins, while in life Gray himself remains young and attractive.
