A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre, presents Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, the Tony Award-winning play that first brought Stoppard to the attention of an international audience - a position he has held in the half century since its premiere in 1967. ANW Producing Artistic Director Geoff Elliott directs. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead performs from October 7 to November 18 (Press Opening October 13).

Director Barbara Hatch's director's note references the daunting nature of taking on the challenge of producing such a beloved and well known work; it is my opinion that, with few minor issues, Ms. Hatch and her cast more than did the piece justice.

When it premiered at The Ustinov Studio, Theatre Royal Bath in the spring of 2018, in a production directed by Trevor Nunn, Harley Granville Barker's Agnes Colander: An Attempt At Life was hailed as a lost masterpiece. Now Nunn's production is to receive its London premiere in a five week run at Jermyn Street Theatre opening in February as part of their PORTRAIT season.

Tara Arts today announce their new January - April 2019 season. Highlighting the breadth of Tara's artistic programme, the season features one world premiere, eleven plays, one children's work, a folk opera, dance theatre and a selection of comedy and music performances.

'All Save One' is Greg Jones Ellis' world premiere play about a 1950s Hollywood in which a Oscar Wilde-type playwright is ensconced in Hollywood, with a front marriage to a film star, a longtime relationship with a man who has become his secretary, and temptations right outside the window of his beachside home.

Slipstream Theatre Initiative has become known for its gutsy adaptations of classics like Hamlet, A Doll's House, and Hedda Gabler. As season five approaches, the company is excited to explore new avenues. Starting in January, Slipstream will present cabaret nights, Mondays at 8:00 PM. Performers can come with sheet music, ready to sing, or they can just come hang out.

James Goldman's modern classic dramatic comedy set in 1183 as England's King Henry II observes Christmas at his castle with his estranged and imprisoned wife, Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, their three sons (Richard, Geoffrey and John), King Philip II and his half-sister, Alais, who is engaged to Richard while being King Henry's mistress. 

In the past five seasons, Collide Theatrical Dance Company has brought us original stories from various historical eras, as well as adaptations of classics like ROMEO AND JULIET. Their new show is an adaptation of the most well-known novel by Minnesota's own F. Scott Fitzgerald, THE GREAT GATSBY. What makes Collide unique is that they tell their stories entirely through movement and music, with few or no words. Their 'original Broadway-style jazz dance musicals' are a collision of music, dance, and theater. In other words, an excuse for this busy theater blogger to watch pretty people dance prettily, while telling a theatrical story. Combining perfectly chosen pop songs performed by a live band and singers with thrilling dances performed by the talented company of dancers, they're able to convey all of the emotion of the story (with plot summary printed in the program if you care about the plot). THE GREAT GATSBY is a great example of this as they tell the story of these beautifully tragic and tragically beautiful people.

Jermyn Street Theatre announces today that Hannah Arterton will star in the stage premiere of Rose Heiney's Original Death Rabbit, the opening production in The PORTRAIT season. Hannah, who can currently be seen playing a leading role in Safe (Netflix/Canal+/Red Productions) and whose recent television credits include The Five (Sky/Red Productions) and Versailles (Canal+/BBC), will take the role of a young woman who becomes an internet sensation, just as the rest of her life falls apart.

Fresh from a sold out Sydney season, Arts Centre Melbourne presents Dan Giovannoni's Green Room Award winning adaptation of Christos Tsiolkas ' Merciless Gods. The two-hour production is a brutal and tender examination of queer immigrant experiences in Australia, and will take over the Fairfax Studio from 6 - 10 February 2019. This collection of eight vignettes based on Tsiolkas' work shows how humans are prey to the cruel and capricious Ancient Gods, taking audiences into worlds both strange and familiar.

Tacoma Little Theatre is holding auditions for its upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim's classic, A Little Night Music. The production will be directed by John Munn, musically directed by Deborah Lynn Armstrong, and choreographed by Lexi Barnett.
