Today the Edinburgh International Festival unveils its 2018 programme. The International Festival runs Friday 3 to Monday 27 August. The event welcomes 2,750 artists from 31 nations to perform in Scotland's capital city and attracts visitors from all over the world, with audiences expected to travel from over 80 nations to be part of Edinburgh's global celebration of culture.

The Old Globe's 2017-2018 Season continues with today's announcement of the complete cast and creative team for the Globe-commissioned world premiere of Anna Ziegler's new American play The Wanderers, directed by Barry Edelstein, the Globe's Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director. The Wanderers will run April 6 - May 6, 2018 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Today casting details were announced for the much anticipated world premiere production of Asking for It by Louise O'Neill produced by Landmark Productions and the Everyman and co-commissioned by the Abbey Theatre. This world premiere production will open at the Everyman as part of Cork Midsummer Festival on 15 June.

Suffragette City, a partnership between the National Trust and The National Archives, will re - create the life of a Suffragette activist in the years before the partial grant of the vote to women in 1918. Inspired by records held by The National Archives, Suffragette City documents the life and arrest of Lillian Ball, a dressmaker and mother from Tooting, arrested for smashing a window in 1912.

Lawrence Burgess is bringing the literary classic Anne of Green Gables to The Capitol Theater's stage in March. The show, adapted from the novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery, was written by Burgess. Burgess will also be handling directing duties.
