Yesterday, Tim Allen, star of the ABC comedy LAST MAN STANDING, visited the landmark Broadway musical, THE LION KING, with his wife and daughter. The Allen family went backstage after the performance to meet and congratulate the cast.

Disney's landmark musical event, THE LION KING, will play its 7,000th Broadway performance at 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 3rd. Only three shows in Broadway history have reached this milestone.

The Nashville return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Andrew Jackson Hall for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, June 2. The show's six-week premiere engagement in 2006 played a sold-out run at TPAC.
The Fox Cities' return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, May 5. The production performed two preview performances on Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 10.
Disney's The Lion King opened at Omaha's Orpheum Theatre this past week and is playing through April 7th, 2013. The Lion King brings great entertainment to Omaha as it is a family favorite amongst the Disney Classics. This show brings such magic to the stage as it not only through the wonderful costumes, but through the music, the story and these fun filled characters. In Omaha, THE LION KING plays Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Matinee performances are Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. There will also be a special matinee at 2:00 pm. on Thursday, April 4. "Omahans are welcoming back this wonderful show in a big way," Joan Squires, President of Omaha Performing Arts said. "Thus far sales have exceeded our expectations but there are still good seats available," she added. "We have seats throughout the run of the show but especially in the later weeks, so check with our box office for best available seating."
Casting has been announced for the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center 's engagement of DISNEY'S THE LION KING. The Fox Cities 'most eagerly awaited stage production ever will leap onto the Center' s stage from Tuesday, April 9 to Sunday, May 5. On Thursday, August 5, cast members from Disney's THE LION KING on Broadway celebrated the return of a wax replica of the beloved baboon shaman 'Rafiki' to Madame Tussauds. The figure, which was originally unveiled at Tussauds in 2006, is dressed in a replica of the original Rafiki costume designed by Julie Taymor, who won the Tony Award for Best Costume Design and Best Direction of a Musical for THE LION KING. The figure was created by Madame Tussauds Studio artists with the help of costume and makeup artists from the London production of THE LION KING.
