With the roster still building, Theater for the New City has currently scheduled over 200 performing arts organizations, independent artists, poets, puppeteers and film makers for its 29th annual Lower East Side Festival of the Arts, which will be mounted May 24 to 26 in and around Theater for the New City.

The people who brought you Nutcracker: Rated R and SEVERED: The Many Loves of Frankenstein's Monster present the action-packed story of a seedy underworld where 'The Scent' is the opiate of choice, cheerleader gang The Tough Cookies terrorizes the streets, corrupt cops are in the hip pocket of nightlife kingpin Jorogumo and her devious teen girlfriend, and one man and his woman are driven to extremes just to survive. Drugs! Desire! Death! Get drawn into our world from the minute the curtains open.

On Monday, September 22, 2014, The Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 10 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2014 recipients at its annual event. Celebrating ten years and thousands of nominees, the New York Innovative Theatre awards took place at Mason Hall at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 17 Lexington Avenue.
