Bay Area Cabaret presents Broadway and rising jazz star Morgan James.

Award-winning singer Natalie Douglas has performed several dozen concerts on the Birdland stage over the past ten years. Each time, she packs the room with an ever-growing fan base eager to cheer her inimitable voice, exquisitely-produced shows and passion-filled, hilarious conversation. This past Monday was no exception when Natalie, musical director Mark Hartman and their band of Broadway All-Stars brought 'The Birthday Show' to the historic music room. The Segal Centre for Performing Arts has announced that SOUL DOCTOR: The Journey of a Rock-Star Rabbi, the new musical based on the life of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, will make its Canadian premiere in Yiddish at the Segal Centre from June 8-29, 2014. Direct from Broadway, Soul Doctor will close the Segal Centre's 2013-2014 Season, replacing the previously announced production of The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz.

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director and Loop Executive Producer Terry Martin today announced the line-up for the 2014 Out of the Loop Fringe Festival, March 6-16, 2014 at the Addison Theatre and Conference Centre.

A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN will play its final performance at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street) this February (exact date will be announced shortly), prior to moving to a new home in New York City this March.

A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN, the new Broadway musical, is celebrating Joplin's birthday with special activities at the theatre and online on Sunday, January 19.At the theatre for both the matinee and evening performances, there will be a special photo booth, supplied by Top Hat Photo Booths, where audience members can write special messages in honor of Joplin's birthday and take photos with the messages. Following the performance the cast will give a special birthday salute to Joplin. For the evening performance only, there will be custom Joplin birthday cupcakes for audience members as they leave the theatre supplied by Sugarush in Red Bank.

Broadway Records just announced the release of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of the critically acclaimed, A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN on the occasion of the iconic musician's birthday celebration. The album will be available digitally on January 17, and the CD is currently available at the Lyceum Theatre. The album is also available for pre-orders at Amazon.com and the official show website.

Artist Morgan James will perform during 2014 Winter Jazzfest on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 7:45 p.m. at Zinc Bar in Greenwich Village.
