The Araca Group & Rattlestick to Launch NEW SONGS NOW Concert Series

The Araca Group and Rattlestick Playwrights Theater are proud to announce NEW SONGS NOW, an unplugged concert series of songs by ten innovative and dynamic songwriters whose work straddles the music and theater genres. NEW SONGS NOW will begin performances on July 27, 2016 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place, just west of 7th Avenue) in Greenwich Village, and is supported in part by New Neighborhood.

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat will host 8 writing teams with 8 individual weeklong residencies in a private home in the countryside near Rhinebeck, New York. The retreats will take place between June 28 and August 30. Applications are due February 23 and the submission fee is $25.

Once a month, you can kick off your Today evening at Le Carre Parisien, a typical Parisian cafe and cave-a-vins, with a cabaret concert by a featured performer, followed by an open mic, where some of the best local artists gather to belt out their favorite Broadway show tunes. Broadway au Carre also features a new musical theatre composer each month, with a set of songs that have never been performed in Europe before. The list of featured composers this season includes Will Van Dyke, Daniel Mate, Andrew Byrne, Peter Saxe, Niko Tsakalakos, Scott Burkell and Paul Loesel, among others.
