WRITER'S BLOCK with Joe Iconis Returns to 54 Below, 8/19
After a year-long hiatus, WRITER'S BLOCK is back at 54 Below on Tuesday August 19th, 2014 at 9:30 pm. WRITER'S BLOCK is the place where NYC's most talented up-and-coming songwriters of contemporary musical theatre and beyond stop by to try new work, revisit older tunes, and maybe even make a friend or two.
This one-night-only event, will feature eight of 54 Below's favorite new songwriters, several open-mic spots, and a 30-minute post-Writer's Block set with Joe Iconis and Family.
WRITER'S BLOCK's all-star line up of writers includes Sam Salmond, Michael R Jackson, Rob Rokicki, Alexander Sage Oyen, Anderson & Petty, Ewalt & Walker, Will Van Dyke, Positive Feedback (Adam Blotner & Jenny Pinzari), and more. Want to perform your own original work at 54 Below? Stop by WRITER'S BLOCK for the chance to perform in one of a few of open-mic slots! Sign up in the lobby before 9:30pm for a chance to perform; names will be drawn at random.
After WRITER'S BLOCK, stick around for an extra special impromptu performance by host Joe Iconis and his merry band of musical theatre punks! Joe Iconis will be joined by Liz Lark Brown, Katrina Rose Dideriksen, Seth Eliser, Molly Hager, Ian Kagey, Eric William Morris, Rob Rokicki, Lance Rubin, and Jason SweetTooth Williams for a 30-minute set.
WRITER'S BLOCK, now in its eighth incarnation, is 54 Below's monthly after-hours songwriter's series.
