Omaha's Broadway dreams come true for the second consecutive summer when The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) partners with Omaha Performing Arts to present their acclaimed Summer Performing Arts Intensive at the Holland Performing Arts Center (1200 Douglas Street, Omaha, NE). Acclaimed theatrical director and producer Richard Jay-Alexander and a roster of Broadway veterans work with aspiring young performers from the Omaha area throughout the week in preparation for 'True Colors,' a one of a kind Broadway concert open to the public. Omaha's Broadway dreams will come true for the second consecutive summer when The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF) partners with Omaha Performing Arts to present their acclaimed Summer Performing Arts Intensive Monday, June 11 through Sunday, June 17, 2011 at the Holland Performing Arts Center (1200 Douglas Street, Omaha, NE). Acclaimed theatrical director and producer Richard Jay-Alexander and a roster of Broadway veterans will work with aspiring young performers from the Omaha area throughout the week in preparation for 'True Colors,' a one of a kind Broadway concert open to the public. The one night only concert event will take place at the Holland Performing Arts Center on Saturday, July 16th at 7:30 pm. At 10:32 pm last Friday night, the news began to leak. Cell phones began buzzing backstage across the Great White Way and during the curtain calls of some shows like Priscilla Queen of the Desert and The Normal Heart, cast members shared the historic news with exuberant audiences: the New York State Senate had voted 33 to 29 in favor of marriage equality. New York had just become the sixth state in the nation to legalize gay marriage.

The MUNY's production of Legally Blonde The Musical opened June 20 and runs through June 26. Marc Bruni and Rusty Mowery are recreating the original Broadway direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell. Lauren Ashley Zakrin stars as Elle Woods, with Matthew Hydzik starring as as Warner Huntington III, Sara Sheperd as Vivienne Kensington, D. B. Bonds as Emmett Forrest, Ken Land as Professor Callahan, Lisa Howard as Paulette, Tiffany Engen as Serena, Taylor Louderman as Margot, K. B. Hart as Pilar, and Nikki Snelson as Brooke Wyndham. The MUNY has just announced the full cast for its upcoming production of Legally Blonde The Musical, which opens June 20 and runs through June 26. The show will be directed by Marc Bruni and feature choreography by Rusty Mowery. Broadway stars and Rock stars joined the audience to dance the night away when Rockers on Broadway returned to BB Kings Blues Club last night, November 8th. Directed by Donnie Kehr, ROCKERS ON BROADWAY-Dance Party featured some of the hottest dance tunes from Elvis to GaGa, performed by Broadway stars and the Rock stars who made them famous. The concert benefits Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS, Broadway Dreams Foundation, Broadway in South Africa, and The Bendheim Performing Arts Center Scholarship Fund.
