Lisel Announces New Double-Single 'Specters' / 'Rabbit Rabbit'

Last year, Lisel - a.k.a. avant-pop singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and artist Eliza Bagg - released her remarkable self-produced solo debut, Angels on the Slope, via Luminelle. Drawing on her vast areas of expertise to create an other-wordly landscape where one wanders between the gauzy and ethereal and distorted, beat-driven pop, Lisel crafted a singular debut that earned praise from the likes of NPR Music, Pitchfork, Billboard, The Fader, and more. Now, prior to her SXSW debut and following a recent performance as a soloist in the iconic New York Philharmonic, Lisel announces a new double-single.

ACME to Perform The Music Of Clarice Jensen And Celebrates 15th Anniversary

From January through May 2020, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) presents three concerts celebrating the group's 15th anniversary, in a series called ACME: 15 Years, at the Tenri Cultural Institute (43A W. 13th St.) a?" the location of the ensemble's inaugural concert season in 2004-2005. Described as a?oevital,a?? a?oebrilliant,a?? and a?oeelectrifying,a?? by The New York Times, ACME is a force for new music led by Artistic Director Clarice Jensen and is dedicated to the outstanding performance of music of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Sufjan Stevens & Lowell Brams Share Video for 'The Runaround'

Composers Robert and Jonah Sirota Give The World Premiere Of A New Collaborative Work At The New School

On Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 7:30pm, New York-based composer/pianist Robert Sirota and Los Angeles-based composer/violist Jonah Sirota present individual works and a world premiere collaboration at The New School's Ernst C. Stiefel Concert Hall (55 West 13th Street, 4th Floor), presented in association with the school's College of Performing Arts (Mannes School of Music, School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, School of Drama). This concert, Elegies and Ecstasies, is part of the Sirota @ 70 season, marking Robert Sirota's 70th birthday with concerts, commissions, and residencies across the country.

Sufjan Stevens & Lowell Brams Release Collaborative Album APORIA

Oscar- and Grammy-nominated composer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Sufjan Stevens and Asthmatic Kitty Records cofounder, longtime collaborator and Stevens' stepfather Lowell Brams will release a collaborative album, Aporia, on March 27. The Gala will honor the National Black Theatre Festival of Winston-Salem and David Henry Hwang and will include festive performances, inspiring speakers, and a celebratory dinner with theatre leaders, celebrities, and enthusiasts. A 6:00pm cocktail reception will be followed by a 7:00pm seated dinner, with entertainment beginning at 7:20pm. Additional programming will be announced soon.
