Marking our 40th year as Toronto's preeminent feminist theatre company, we have curated an electric lineup of productions that bravely and playfully examine politics, privilege, power, and progress. Offering up three world premieres born out of creative collaboration from Common Boots Theatre, Aluna Theatre, and Nightwood's own Write from the Hip program, as well as a Toronto premiere from Governor-General Award-nominated playwright, Karen Hines, Nightwood is proud to step into this landmark season with a focus on the future of contemporary Canadian theatre.
Toronto's premiere winter arts celebration, the Next Stage Theatre Festival, begins this January 2019 with a stellar lineup of unique and innovative theatre. Presented by the Toronto Fringe, twelve carefully curated shows will be presented for the Festival's 12th anniversary, showcasing strong voices and well-written new plays. The festival will take place at the Factory Theatre and a site-specific venue from January 9 to 20, 2019.

Welsh singer Aled Jones is to make a special guest appearance in the charity gala performance of Ian Hislop and Nick Newman's play The Wipers Times on Remembrance Sunday 11 November at 6pm at the Arts Theatre, London in support of The Royal British Legion's Thank You campaign. He will be performing Silent Night with members of The Wipers Times acting company. The arrangement of Silent Night is taken from Aled's new album (with Russell Watson) In Harmony which is released on 9th November. There will be other surprise cameo appearances during the show. The evening will also include an introduction, post-show talk and Q & A with Ian and Nick and an exclusive post-show reception. This special performance coincides with the commemoration of the end of WWI.

Yesterday, fourth year students in Sheridan's renowned Honours Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program began workshopping four new musicals as part of the Canadian Music Theatre Project (CMTP), an international centre of excellence for the development of new musicals at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario.
