Nora York's WATER WATER EVERYWHERE Set for Joe's Pub, 11/10

Joe's Pub at The Public will welcome conceptual artist, musician and educator Nora York in Water Water Everywhere / Nay Any Drop To Drink, a new work presented by Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, Ballroom Marfa and the Public Concern Foundation as part of the city-wideMarfa Dialogue NY symposium on climate change. This one-night-only performance takes place at Joe's Pub on November 10 at 7:00 PM and is FREE and open to the public.

Kitchen Theatre Company opens its 23rd Season with Tom Stoppard's award-winning translation of HEROES, a comedy by French playwright Gerald Sibleyras. Winner of the prestigious Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, HEROES begins previews on September 4th. Opening night is September 7th, and the play runs through September 22nd. The Kitchen Theatre Company is excited to announce that its 2013-14 Season begins September 4, 2013. Lineup for 8th Annual Brooklyn Book Festival Revealed

Today, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and the Brooklyn Literary Council announced programming for the eighth annual Brooklyn Book Festival, supported by AT&T, to be held exactly one month from today on Sunday, September 22, 2013, from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Hundreds of top authors and participants, both national and international, will join bibliophiles, booksellers and literary organizations on 14 stages, including the Target Children's Area and Youth Stoop, featuring more 90 panels, workshops and readings; sites include Brooklyn Borough Hall and Plaza, Columbus Park, St. Francis College, Brooklyn Law School, the Brooklyn Historical Society as well as St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church.

Santino Fontana, Rachel Bay Jones & More Set for AMAS' NOTES TO MARIANNE Reading, 9/12

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Artistic Producer) will present two free staged readings of 'notes to MariAnne', a new musical by David Rossmer and Dan Lipton, directed by Leigh Silverman. NY Philharmonic Opens Season with Yo-Yo Ma Gala Concert, 9/25

Music Director Alan Gilbert opens the New York Philharmonic's 2013-14 season with the Opening Gala concert, headlined by cellist Yo-Yo Ma, Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Gilbert will conduct Mr. Ma and the Orchestra in two works by Argentinian composers: the World Premiere of Octavio Brunetti's arrangement, commissioned by the New York Philharmonic, of a suite from Astor Piazzolla's La serie del Ángel, and Osvaldo Golijov's Azul, composed for the eminent cellist. The program opens with Ravel's Alborada del gracioso and closes with Bolero, two pieces that reflect the French composer's fascination with Spain. The concert will be telecast nationally on Live From Lincoln Center at a later date, and Classical 105.9 FM WQXR at 7:30 p.m.

Pace Presents Announces Full Music, Dance, Art & Opera Line-Up for 2013-14 Season

The Michael Schimmel Center for the Performing Arts at Pace University today announced its 2013|2014 Pace Presents Season, under the Executive Direction of Martin I. Kagan, is a world-class performing arts series with an emphasis on music superstars from around the globe, charismatic and innovative dance performances, stunning opera stars in recital and spectacular contemporary cabaret. The Pace Presents season begins on September 21 with a big band tribute to the late, great lounge legend Esquivel from Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica, culminating onJune 1 with the reunion performance of Tina Croll and Jamie Cunningham'sdance/theatre piece From the Horse's Mouth.

American Lyric Theater Announces $150,000 Grant for Opera Composers and Librettists

Lawrence Edelson, Producing Artistic Director of American Lyric Theater (ALT), announced today that the company has been awarded a $150,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support capacity building and the national expansion of the company's Composer Librettist Development Program (CLDP), the only full-time professional mentorship initiative for emerging operatic writers in the country.

Moving Image to Present THE COMPLETE HOWARD HAWKS Retrospective, 9/7-11/10

Howard Hawks, the quintessential Hollywood director known for his mastery of many genres, will be the subject of a complete retrospective at Museum of the Moving Image from September 7 through November 10, 2013. The Museum will present 39 features. All of the films will be shown in 35mm-many in stunning restorations-except for Red Line 7000, which will be shown in 16mm.

Maverick Concerts Presents Classical Indian Music Tonight

Maverick Concerts, the oldest continuous summer chamber music festival in America, announces an evening of classical Indian music tonight, Aug. 17, at 6:30 pm.
