Does the singular act of donating a kidney make you a hero? Amanda has a certificate dedicated to her heroism but she's uncomfortable with that label. On the other hand! She loves the attention being a hero provides her so she wrote a solo show about all the containers of pee she had to carry on the subway. I'm Just Kidneying takes a whimsical look into the process of living kidney donation and pokes holes into the idea of what it takes to be "hero material." 

Beginning January 20th, 2019, award-winning musical theatre composer and singer-songwriter, Drew Gasparini will produce and host a brand new live concert series at Rockwood Music Hall (Stage 3) in New York City showcasing local writers and performers.

NextStop Theatre's production takes up the meta to another level by casting real-life friends as the actors in the show and allowing them to be co-directors. Most theatre about theatre can easily lose audiences but, NextStop's [title of show] is overall accessible and relatable to a wider audience through its characters and humor.

With lead vocals by a dozen Broadway stars, Yellow Sound Label has announced the release of the debut album of eleven original songs by award-winning songwriter and Berklee College of Music Professor Michael Wartofsky, in digital, streaming and physical formats, today, Friday, January 4.

11th Hour Theatre Company's Spotlight Series continues with Elena Camp and Rajeer Alford. These local favorites will take the stage Monday, January 7 at 7 p.m. It is hosted (with performances) by 11th Hour co-founder and Associate Artistic Director Steve Pacek. 11th Hour Theatre Company kicks off the new year and presents its final Next Step Concert 18-19 season with a Next Step Concert presentation of Frank Wildhorn, Don Black, and Ivan Menchell's look at the infamous American couple, Bonnie and Clyde. This eclectic musical runs January 5-13. BILLY RECCE is 21, a rollicking new concert celebration, will play the Green Room 42 for one night only on December 14 at 9:30.

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler announced the cast of the second production of its 2018-19 Season: Birdy, adapted by Naomi Wallace from the novel by William Wharton, and directed by Steven Maler. The production runs February 27 through March 10 at the Carling-Sorenson Theater at Babson College in Wellesley.

Founder and Executive Artistic Director Benjamin Taylor Davis announces today that submissions for the Fourth Annual Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival (AMTF), to be held in the summer in Atlanta, are officially open. The deadline to submit new works is February 1, 2019. Selections will be announced in April 2019, at the annual selections announcement event (details forthcoming).
