Dynamite Lunchbox Entertainment of Orlando will be presenting Josephine, a burlesque cabaret dream play across Canada and The United States on a tour of 7 cities in over 3 months. The tour begins in Ottawa and then heads to Toronto for the 2018 Toronto Fringe Festival. Josephine is a one-woman biographical musical that combines cabaret, theatre and dance to tell the story of the iconic Josephine Baker, the first African-American international superstar and one of the most remarkable figures of the 20th Century.

An original musical comedy written by Jonathan Winton Brenner and Pam Eberhardt, The Runaway Clone centers around an Agency in the future that makes and sells clones to humans. One clone escapes and takes with her all of the agency's secrets. In a panic that the world will know the truth which the Agency has been hiding for years, the administration sets out on a mission to retrieve the runaway clone and keep their empire intact. LAUNDRYFEST will make its world premiere at The Soap Box, 110 Saratoga Ave, Brooklyn NY 11233. The show will be comprised of site specific and site responsive pieces in an actual laundromat. The festival, produced by The Motor Company (Lillian Meredith, Artistic Director; Jessica Schmidt, Producing Director), will feature new short plays and musicals by Sean Pollock, Billy Recce, Ben Holbrook and Cherry Lou Sy. Directors include NJ Agwuna, David Kahawaii, Phoebe Padget, and Lillian Meredith. The festival is co-curated and co-produced by Sean Pollock. The performance schedule is Friday, June 8th, Today June 9th, Friday, June 15th, and Today June 16th at 9:00PM; Sunday June 10th and Sunday June 17th at 7:00PM. Admission is free of charge to the public.

The Tank (Meghan Finn and Rosalind Grush, Artistic Directors) will hold their 15th Anniversary Gala today, May 22 at their home, 312 West 36th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues). The event will honor Randi Berry of IndieSpace, an organization that creates 'permanent real estate solutions for the independent theater community'. IndieSpace was instrumental in finding The Tank's new home, and we'll be celebrating The Tank's home, history, and future with this exciting event. Redhouse will close its 2017-18 season with the ever-popular musical La Cage aux Folles, book by Harvey Feirstein, based on the play by Jean Poiret. Performances will take place at Redhouse Arts Center, from May 31 - June 10, 2018. In addition, Redhouse will celebrate its Grand Opening of its new home at 400 S. Salina Street with a special event and ribbon cutting taking place June 1st prior to the opening night show. La Cage aux Folles, based on the same 1973 play which was also the inspiration for the movie "The Birdcage" starring Nathan Lane and Robin Williams, will close the 2017/18 season. This comedic and heartfelt show features music and lyrics by Jerry Herman, composer of Broadway hits Hello, Dolly! and Mame.

This World Premiere musical, which the company helped develop is set to run May 31-June 17. Gloucester Stage Company opens its 39th season of professional theater on May 11 with the world premiere of Madame Defarge, Wendy Kesselman's new musical inspired by Charles Dicken's classic A Tale of Two Cities. "Wild Women of Planet Wongo" (Wongo) invades Chicago starting June 8 at the Chopin Theater, 1543 W. Division, following a long-term successful New York run. This immersive sci-fi musical comedy spoofs madcap 60s B movies while placing the audience into the middle of the experience. "Wild Women of Planet Wongo" was written by Ben Budick, Steve Mackes and Dave Ogrin and is directed by David Rigano. The first block of tickets are on sale on April 20 for shows June 8 through July 14. Performances are Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. The show is recommended for those over 16-years-old except for Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. which is strictly 21-years-old and over. In celebration of Immigrant Heritage Week, the Immigrant Arts Coalition and Dramatists Guild of America, in collaboration with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) will present Staging Our Stories, an interactive panel discussion with playwrights, composers, and lyricists on heritage and diversity in theatre. An official partner with the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, this free event will take place on Friday, April 20th, 1pm in the Dramatists Guild of America's Mary Rodgers Room.
