Commonwealth Shakespeare Company Announces Benefit Staged Reading of MEASURE FOR MEASURE

CSC will host a one-night-only benefit staged reading of Measure for Measure by William Shakespeare, directed by Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler. This production will feature Christian Coulson (Harry Potter, The Hours, Mozart in the Jungle, Nashville) as Angelo and features a dynamic cast of the area’s extraordinary talent. 

Adam Strauss Brings THE MUSHROOM CURE to The Marsh Berkeley

Adam Strauss’s hit solo show, The Mushroom Cure, will return to The Marsh Berkeley for a limited run, performing Friday nights (April 8 – May 27). It will run in repertory with his spontaneous comedic show, Adam Strauss is Not Unhappy, performing Saturdays (April 9 – May 21). The Mushroom Cure was inspired by a scientific study showing that hallucinogenic mushrooms may cure obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), which launched Strauss on a program of vigilante psychopharmacology.

Trudy Carmichael Makes A Triumphant Live And In-Person Return To Las Vegas!

Following a two-year hiatus, everyone's favorite fictional Las Vegas lounge singer, Trudy Carmichael is making her triumphant return to Majestic Repertory Theater to dazzle 'Sin City' audiences in her ONE NIGHT ONLY performance of Trudy Carmichael Presents The Improvised One-Woman Show! on Tuesday, March 8th at 7:00pm. Featuring Musical Direction by Faustino Solis on the keys.

The Workshop Theater to Host Honor Roll! At Their Winter 2022 Workshop Intensive

The Workshop Theater has dedicated a session of their Winter 2022 Workshop Intensive to HONOR ROLL!, an advocacy group for women+ playwrights over 40. Broadway Composer and Conductor Keith Herrmann Dies at 69

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Broadway composer and conductor Keith Herrmann passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at the age of 69.  He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Georgia, and son A.J.

United Solo Special Event Celebrates Return To Their Audience

In celebration of United Solo Theatre Festival's return to its resident stage/home at Theatre Row in New York's theatre district, Omar Sangare, the Festival's founder and artistic director, joined forces with actor and singer Wendy-Lane Bailey to create “Five Minutes: Snapshots in Time”. The solo piece premieres Sunday, November 14th at 7:00 PM.

PlayGround-LA Announces November 8 Monday Night PlayGround

Following the successful opening of Season 10 earlier this month, Los Angeles playwright incubator PlayGround-LA has recently announced the prompt for the next Monday Night PlayGround short play staged reading event. Thirty-six Los Angeles writers had just four-and-a-half days to generate their original scripts inspired by the prompt 'WHODUNNIT' as they vie for one of six slots in the second round of this year's Monday Night PlayGround staged reading series, presented live at The Broadwater Second Stage and simulcast online on November 8th at 7pm PT.

URINETOWN Authors Mark Hollmann & Greg Kotis to Give Talkback After Blue Hill Troupe's Nov. 13 Matinee

The Blue Hill Troupe, New York City's only philanthropic musical theater group, will kick off its 98th season with Urinetown: The Musical, a sidesplitting sendup of greed, love, revolution, and musicals-set in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. Tony Award winners Mark Hollmann (music and lyrics) and Greg Kotis (book and lyrics) will attend the show at 2pm on Saturday, November 13, and give a talk-back following the performance.

PlayGround-LA Announces Monday Night PlayGround

On the eve of the return to in-person theatre and PlayGround's expansion to New York, Los Angeles playwright incubator PlayGround-LA has chosen the prompt of 'rebirth' as inspiration for the opening Monday Night PlayGround of Season 10.
