The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust today announced the names of the 10 outstanding early-to-mid-career playwrights who will be celebrated with 2021 Steinberg Playwright Awards in the amount of $10,000 each.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced its 2021-2022 Launch Commission writers Nikki Massoud and Max Yu. Launch commissions are offered to early career playwrights in support of writing a new play and facilitating relationships in the theater industry.

Page 73 has announced 10 semifinalists for the 2022 Page 73 Playwriting Fellowship. From a pool of over 300 applicants, Page 73 has selected Melis Aker, Syreeta Briggs, Vichet Chum, Kate Douglas, Ryan Drake, Marvin González De León, Majkin Holmquist, Deepa Purohit, Gab Reisman, and Haygen-Brice Walker.

The Trustees of the Laurents Hatcher Foundation (David Saint, President) announced $1,320,000 in grants to theaters across the country in an effort aid in the process of reopening theaters and restarting productions amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.  Twenty-nine unsolicited awards were given in lieu of traditional grantmaking to specific productions.

Emmy & Tony Award winner Laurence Fishburne, Academy Award & Golden Globe winner  Sam Rockwell and Emmy Award & Golden Globe winner Darren Criss will star in the Broadway revival of David  Mamet's AMERICAN BUFFALO, directed by Neil Pepe.

The Harold and Mimi Steinberg Charitable Trust today announced the names of the 20 outstanding early-to-mid-career playwrights who will be celebrated with 2020 Steinberg Playwright Awards in the amount of $10,000 each. As previously announced, these awards are being given in response to this extremely difficult year, and in an effort to better meet the immediate and pressing needs of playwrights.

Atlantic Theater Company will present African Caribbean MixFest, a series of free readings co-produced by playwright Guadalís Del Carmen and playwright, director, and Artistic Director of the Young Vic Kwame Kwei Armah, that will run virtually Tuesday, January 19 th through Friday, January 29th. 

In response to this anomalous year, and in an effort to better meet the immediate and pressing needs of the field of playwriting, the Trust is has announced that it will celebrate the work of 20 outstanding early-to-mid-career playwrights with 2020 Steinberg Playwright Awards in the amount of $10,000 each.
