Marco Calvani's MASPETH Set for Planet Connections Theatre Festivity Tomorrow

Planet Connections Theatre Festivity helps close out Gay Pride Month with a reading of Marco Calvani's drama Maspeth, presented on Thursday, June 30 at 8pm at the Paradise Factory, located at 64 East 4th Street. The reading is directed by Shira-Lee Shalit, with a cast that includes Christina Toth, Evgeniya Radilova and Alexander Hodge. Joe Dolce, former editor in chief of Details and Star magazines and journalist for many of the world's leading publications, including The New York Times, is hosting a Talk Back session after the production.

MCC Theater has announced that its previously announced benefit reading of a new Neil LaBute play, Reasons to be Pretty Happy, will be led by star of stage and screen-and frequent LaBute collaborator-Paul Rudd, who previously worked with LaBute on the critically acclaimed play, The Shape of Things in both New York and London as well as the film adaptation. He also starred on stage in LaBute's bash - in New York and Los Angeles.

?Samovar Subway Ensemble has announced a Hollywood Fringe Festival production of The Gentrification Cycle, two short plays written by G.D. Kimble and directed by Christina Cigala. Jen Tries Vacation and Locomotive Repair in Three Easy Steps will feature (in alphabetical order) Jon Gentry, Emily McLeod, Suzan Mikiel, Adam Tomei, Brian Wallace, Claire Winters, and Allison Youngberg. There will be five performances at the Dorie Theatre @ The Complex in Hollywood - Friday 6/3 at 7:30pm (press preview); Thursday 6/9 at 9pm; Thursday 6/16 at 7pm; Thursday 6/23 at 10:30pm; and Friday 6/24 at 6:45pm. Total running time will be 70 minutes.
