Furious Theatre Company remains in residence in the Carrie Hamilton Theatre for the Los Angeles premiere of boom by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb, writer of Furious Theatre's much acclaimed, award-winning 2009 production of Hunter Gatherers. boom will preview on Wednesday, May 19; Thursday, May 20 and Friday, May 21 at 8 p.m. with an opening date of Saturday, May 22 at 8 p.m. and run through Sunday, June 20 at the home of Furious Theatre Company, the Pasadena Playhouse Carrie Hamilton Theatre, 39 S. El Molino Ave. in Pasadena.

Silver Spring Stage is proud to present The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler as a special benefit to the theater for 5 performances only this weekend May 14 to May 16. This exceptional celebration of women and empowerment will move audiences seamlessly from laughter to tears to rejoicing. Silver Spring Stage dedicates this benefit to two veterans of its theater community who succumbed to cancer last year. The proceeds will support Silver Spring Stage and two cancer foundations. The production is directed by Grace Overbeke, Christie Walser, and Rayona Young and features new and familiar actors to the Stage.

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) announced today that Playwright-in-Residence Neil LaBute's three special benefit staged readings of his previously unseen ‘shorts' series, Filthy Talk for Troubled Times: Scenes of Intolerance, will feature actors Alice Eve, Justin Long and T.R. Knight, with additional cast members to be announced shortly. The readings will take place on Thursday, June 3, Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5, 2010, 7:00 p.m., at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC). Proceeds will benefit MCC Theater's Playwrights' Coalition program, free PlayLab reading series, and literary development activities.

Aurora Theatre Company's Annual 'Aurora Borealis' Benefit Raises $180K

Berkeley's acclaimed Aurora Theatre Company, now celebrating its 18th season, lit up the night on Monday, May 3 with an evening of heavenly wining and dining at Aurora Borealis, the company's 12th annual benefit, held at the newly-renovated historic Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Berkeley. Over 200 guests attended the sold-out fundraising fête, chaired by Deborah Goodman, which raised upwards of $180,000. Funds raised at the gala event will support Aurora Theatre Company's outstanding live performances, innovative education program, and the Global Age Project new works program.
