OSL's 2013 Caramoor Music Festival to Feature DON CARLOS, SHE LOVES ME & More

From June to August, Orchestra of St. Luke's presents its 34th summer season at the Caramoor Music Festival, taking place in the beautiful al fresco Venetian Theater at Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts in Katonah, New York. The five-concert series offers something for every musical taste, with a Broadway musical, symphonic masterworks, elegant chamber music for unusual groupings, and a longtime tradition of OSL's Caramoor residencies-Bel Canto operas under the baton of Will Crutchfield.

Minnesota Orchestra Offers Musicians Negotiation Dates; Cancels thru 6/2; Adds July Concerts

The Minnesota Orchestra Board Negotiating Committee has offered three proposed dates to the Musicians' Union for negotiating sessions at the end of this month. The Orchestra also announced the cancellation of two final weeks in its classical subscription season through June 2, as well as the addition of three weeks of classical concerts in July at Ted Mann Concert Hall.

The Colorado Symphony today unveiled their 2013/14 season featuring a full nine months of Pops, the Inside the Score series, Family and Holiday concerts as well as 16 weeks of Masterworks programs. A Spotlight Series features the return engagements of Itzhak Perlman, Chris Botti and Joshua Bell and the newly added Classic Rock Series finds the orchestra at the Paramount Theatre presenting the music from Tommy, post-Beatle music of John, Paul, George and Ringo, and a tribute to Woodstock.

The Sheldon presents 'Colors of Russia' featuring David Halen, violin, Miran Halen, soprano and Natasha Paremski, piano, Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 8 p.m. in the perfect acoustics of the Sheldon Concert Hall. Inspired by Russian-born painter Marc Chagall's Snowing, from the collection of the St. Louis Art Museum , colorful Russian music is performed by Symphony Concertmaster David Halen and Moscow-born rising star pianist Natasha Paremski with soprano Miran Halen. The program will include Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition in its original form for solo piano, Prokofiev's Sonata for Violin and Piano, Rachmaninoff Preludes, and Arensky's Piano Trio. Join us at 7:10 for a pre-concert talk with pianist Peter Henderson.

TWIN SPIRITS Heads to Mark Taper with Sting & Trudie Styler

After it's highly successful staging in NYC in June 2010, Allan Buchman has announced the West Coast debut of Twin Spirits on Tuesday, February 15th at the Mark Taper Forum at the Music Center of Los Angeles County. Presented by Culture Project, Sting and Trudie Styler will reprise their roles as classical composer Robert and his wife, pianist Clara Schumann; reading the couple's poignant letters with accompaniment from a six-member ensemble of classical musicians. A portion of the evening's proceeds will be used to support the ongoing work of Culture Project, the Royal Opera House and Mustardseed Arts Trust.

The 21st Annual GYPSY OF THE YEAR COMPETITION announced an all time record total of $4,630,695 had been raised by the 60 participating Broadway, Off-Broadway, and National Tour companies to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This year's total breaks the previous record when $3,927,000 was raised for the 2007 GYPSY OF THE YEAR COMPETITION.
