WORDS IN MOTION Set for Chan Centre, 3/18-19

The Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia (UBC), in partnership with The Dance Centre, presents Words in Motion, March 18 & 19, 7:30pm, in the Telus Studio Theatre. This innovative series explores the power of words in performance - both as an agent of change, and as a means of igniting important dialogue. Vancouver-based authors Carmen Aguirre, Aislinn Hunter, and Nancy Lee pair with diverse choreographers, Anusha Fernando, Olivia C. Davies, and Paraskevas Terezakis, to interpret three renowned texts into original works.

Guerilla Opera presents Pedr Solis, a world premiere opera by Per Bloland, libretto by Paul Schick, and stage direction by Laine Rettmer. Pedr Solis is partially based on 'The Tower,' a play by Hugo von Hofmannsthal, and the life of Norwegian author Pedr Solis in the late 1960s. In 1970, Solis's novel 'Stillaset' spills into his real life in Oslo.

New Musical LOST & FOUND to Play Piccolo Rialto Theatre, 2/11-22

Infinitheatre's Artistic Director Guy Sprung will present the premiere of a new musical play, Lost & Found, playing at the Piccolo Rialto Theatre from Feb. 11-22. Written by and starring David Sherman as Victor and Nancy Lee as Tricia, the show features some of Montreal's finest, established musicians- Stephen Barry on bass, Andrew Cowan on guitar and John McColgan on drums. The Musical Director is the award-winning Erik West-Millette, a prolific, multi-disciplinary musician, composer and multimedia music director for film, theatre and radio.

The theatre will feature two new plays, including the two prize winners of the Write-On-Q! playwriting competition, two works in development originally introduced at Infinitheatre including a musical with top-notch Montreal musicians, as well as a guest reading from young company, Brave New Productions.

GMA's Sam Champion and HLN's A.J. Hammer and Robin Meade to Host 2013 Daytime Emmys

HLN, the host network of the annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy(R) Awards show, now in its 40th year, presented live from The Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 16, 8-10 p.m., ET/PT, today announces ABC's Good Morning America's Sam Champion along with HLN's own A.J. Barn Theatre to Present 'Solstice Showcase' One-Act Festival, June 14-16

The Barn Theatre ushers in the summer with its 'Solstice Showcase: 2013 One-Act Festival.' The three-day event celebrates original works from rising theatrical artists, and features the talents over 20 performers from around New Jersey. Performances are on Friday, June 14, 2013 and Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 2 p.m.
