San Francisco Playhouse to Present INTO THE WOODS, 6/24-9/6

San Francisco Playhouse (Artistic Director Bill English & Producing Director Susi Damilano) concludes its provocative eleventh season with Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim (music and lyrics) and James Lapine (book). The production runs June 24th to September 6th, 2014, with an official opening set for June 28.

Today, the Nederlander Organization and Hollywood Pantages Theatre announced the nominees for the 3rd Annual JERRY HERMAN AWARDS, a celebration of the achievement and excellence in high school musical theatre in Los Angeles. The annual awards show will be hosted by KABC-7 Reporter George Pennacchio at the Hollywood Pantages on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 7pm.

Jim Brochu's CHARACTER MAN to Close 4/6 at Urban Stages

Urban Stages Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director and producer Peter Napolitano, announced the final week of the World Premiere engagement of Character Man. Jim Brochu's new musical memoir at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street). This limited run will continue through April 6th only. Robert Bartley directs, with musical direction by Carl Haan. The Final Post-Show Talk will take place on Wednesday, April 2nd with Special Guest Karen Mason (Mamma Mia, Sunset Boulevard, Hairspray), moderated by Peter Filichia.

According to Variety, Josh Elliot is leaving ABC's Good Morning America, where he has been working since 2011. Instead, he will be working for NBC Sports. Amy Robach will be replacing Elliot.

Jim Brochu's new musical memoir begins an Off-Broadway run at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street) tonight, February 28th, with opening night set for Wednesday March 5th. This limited run will continue through March 30th only. Robert Bartley directs, with musical direction by Carl Haan. Character Man will have scenic & video design by Patrick Brennan, lighting design by Meghan Santelli and sound design by Sean Hagerty.
