The Young Vic Announces YV:ID A Festival Exploring Identity

Kwame Kwei-Armah, Artistic Director of Young Vic, today announces YV:ID, a five-week festival of digital and live events taking place throughout February and March 2019, which aims to catalyse debates around the themes of identity.

Nadia Latif Named Young Vic Genesis Fellow

Writer and director Nadia Latif has been named the next Genesis Fellow at the Young Vic. Nadia's most recent credits as a director include: Fall of the Kingdom, Rise of the Footsoldier, The Calm (workshop) (RSC); Octagon, but i cd only whisper (Arcola); Homegrown (National Youth Theatre); Even Stillness Breathes Softly Against A Brick Wall (Soho Theatre) and Saved(Drama Centre). From 2009 to 2011 she was Associate Director of Theatre503.

Brad Birch Receives 2016 Pinter Commission

Playwright Brad Birch received the 2016 Pinter Commission yesterday (Tuesday 15 March) - an award given annually by Lady Antonia Fraser, Harold Pinter's widow, to support a new commission at the Royal Court Theatre.

112 Cast Members to Lead Site-Specific Play EXPLORING RADICALISM

In February of this year three regular school girls left Bethnal Green Academy to travel to Syria and join ISIS. As part of the National Youth Theatre's 2015 season director Nadia Latif (Carrot, Even Stillness Breathes Softly Against A Brick Wall) and playwright Omar El-Khairy (The Keepers of Infinite Space, Sour Lips) have responded, creating a brand new site specific promenade production exploring the implications of radicalism and extremism on the people and communities behind the headlines.
