Theatre LILA will present two mainstage shows and dozens of student theatre workshops in its upcoming season, telling moving, personal stories in innovative ways.

There's a general rule of thumb in any theatrical production that if the cast is enjoying what they are doing then that will translate into audience connection and enjoyment. Of course, good source material like Jane Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice doesn't hurt the issue nor does a wonderfully quirky adaptation by Kate Hamill. But it's those two elements combined with the fact that the kick-ass ensemble cast, currently performing the piece at Seattle Repertory Theatre, appears to be big kids having two and a half hours of play-time on stage every night and having the times of their lives that makes this a winner. And that energy is certainly infectious creating uproarious laughter from the audience (and even sometimes from their fellow cast members as well).

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey celebrates art and William Shakespeare with its next Main Stage production, Shakespeare in Love. This new play based on the Oscar-winning screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard and adapted for the stage by Lee Hall makes its Metropolitan debut at STNJ on October 11. Boise Little Theater travels back to the early 1800's for a telling of Jane Austen's classic novel, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE adapted for the stage by Jon Jory. The undertaking could be overwhelming with elaborate sets, props, & costumes, but Director Diana Holdridge, with an excellent production team assisting, does a terrific job of keeping things simple with just the right touches to bring the world to life. The sound, lights, and set make for an easy but effective traversing between multiple locations. Period appropriate costumes for the 21 person cast were beautifully configured by Elizabeth Greeley, assisted by Chanel Johnson.

Hairspray, Spamalot, The Little Mermaid and Steel Magnolias are among the shows headlining the 2018 season at Murfreesboro's Center for the Arts. Those four shows are joined by ten more in the list of productions unveiled at Saturday's gala reveal event at CFTA, hosted by Bethany True and George Downer.

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE will perform at the National Theatre on September 6 and 26, October 14 and 18, November 19, and December 4 and 20.
