The Springfield Chamber Players will launch its 2025 Westfield Athenaeum season with a performance by the Springfield Chamber Players Clarinet Quintet in February.

The Springfield Chamber Players will launch its 2024-25 season with a performance by the Springfield Chamber Players Clarinet Quintet. The first of a six-concert series will be on Saturday, October 26, at 8:00 PM at 52 Sumner. Springfield's newest performance venue is on the corner of Sumner Avenue at Fort Pleasant Avenue in Springfield, MA.

The Springfield Chamber Players Octet will make their premiere at the Concerts at 7 Series on Monday, August 19, at 7PM. The performance will be at the Plainfield Congregational Church, 356 West Main Street in Plainfield, MA. 

There are as many forms of entertainments as there are concepts. Expressing one's point of view can be difficult and when you put nine people in the same room and ask them to brainstorm for the next best idea for a film script, there are bound to be way too many or too few concepts that work. Playwright Annie Baker has penned her most recent play, THE ANTIPODES, using this idea as a construct for a present day 'theatre of the absurd' that hasn't been seen Ionesco's THE BALD SOPRANO. Happily Buffalo's Road Less Traveled Productions is presenting Baker's play in a knockout evening of theatre with some of the best ensemble acting you will ever encounter.

Recently suffering from a stroke, Mr. Cullen requires extensive therapy treatments. The evening, directed by Michael Weber, featured Chicago's Entertainer Ron Hawking, Gretchen Cryer (Writer and star of I'm Getting My Act Together) and cast members from Million Dollar Quartet. The evening also featured cast members appearing from some of the many dynamic productions that Michael Cullen produced including Steel Magnolias (Nancy Baird), A Couple of Blaguards (Howard Platt), Pump Boys And Dinettes (Malcolm Ruhl, John Foley, Shawn Stengel, Tom Mendel, Mary Launder, Rick Pickren, Tammy Mader, Liza Jaine, Tiffany Herlien, Shaun Whitely, Brian Burke and Maggie LaMee) & The Irish And How They Got That Way (Jane Baxter, Miller, Kent Lewis, David Girolmo, Justine Serino, and Susan Voelz.). Chicago Tribune Theater Critic Chris Jones made a special appearance that was the highlight of the evening. Thousands of dollars were raised for Mr. Cullen's rehabilitative care.

Thanks to the phenomenal success of West Side Story and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the Stratford Shakespeare Festival is extending the runs of both shows until November 8.

Thanks to the phenomenal success of West Side Story and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the Stratford Shakespeare Festival is extending the runs of both shows until November 8.

The Stratford Shakespeare Festival announces that Seán Cullen will be stepping in to assume the role of Pseudolus in the current production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Bruce Dow, who was originally cast in the role and has had audiences rolling in the aisles since previews began, has had to withdraw from the 2009 season because of an injury that has caused him to miss some recent performances. In order to fully heal, he needs an extended period of recovery.
