Chocolate Cortés, a 92 –year old Puerto Rican and Dominican, family-owned chocolate manufacturing company that’s known for its rich hot chocolate and La Borinqueña, the first female Afro-Puerto Rican comic book superhero created by Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, have launched Activate Your Powers With the Arts

The first workshop in November of 2019 was followed by an intensive revision of the show.  Miranda Ferriss Jones and Vanessa Dunleavy, the writers and performers, worked with THT artistic director Anderson and orchestrator Simon Broucke to sharpen the piece, clarifying the issues and tightening scenes.

Broadway shows are returning to Louisville this month! Kicking off the PNC Broadway in Louisville 2021 lineup will be Waitress, which begins performances on November 9, and runs through the 14.

Sebastián Yatra performs the original song “Dos Oruguitas” in Spanish in the film, as well as “Two Oruguitas,” the English language version of the song, in the end-credits.  Previously announced artist Carlos Vives performs “Colombia, Mi Encanto.” The Encanto Original Motion Picture Soundtrack features eight original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Feinstein’s at the Nikko and For The Record Live—the nationally acclaimed genre-bending series that brings classic movie soundtracks to thrilling life on stage—announced the extension of BratPack, the celebrated immersive ‘80s theatrical live-concert event featuring music and moments from some of the ‘80s most beloved high-school comedies.

Mayor Bill de Blasio stopped by the Drama Book Shop to honor the bookstore and declare October 26, 2021 “Drama Book Shop Day.”  Co-owner Lin-Manuel Miranda was at the store to receive the proclamation from the Mayor, speak on the importance of getting vaccinated and encourage the community to shop locally to support small businesses.
