After 14 years in prison for a crime he swears he didn't commit, Chick returns home to find his flat-broke family under the thumb of his dangerous Unclemike. A rollicking Gothic Western tale of a family isolated by shame, STUPID KID explores power, guilt and the limits of maternal love.

This work of intertwining monologues explores human rights and environmental issues around the world, especially in relationship to human-made tragedies and their aftermath. These readings are an initiative of NoPassport (www.nopassport.org) for Human Rights International reading scheme. THE ROAD THEATRE will present a reading (LIVE OR VIA VIDEO IN DIGITAL SEGMENTS ) which centers on stories from the United States, Nigeria, Syria, Malaysia, sub-Sahara, and Venezuela.
