Nicole Kidman, Steven Spielberg and Sam Worthington ('Avatar') have been set as presenters at 'The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards' on Sunday, January 17. The show, hosted by Ricky Gervais, will be broadcast live coast to coast on NBC (5 to 8 pm PT, 8 to 11 pm ET) from The Beverly Hilton.

Red Bull Theater's Revelation Readings series will feature Martha Plimpton, Michael Emerson and more. The series began readings on September 14th and will continue the series through June 14, 2010. The series is meant to rediscover neglected classics, and to develop new plays of heightened language and classical themes.

The nominees for the Chicago Film Critics Awards are out, and include some theatrical favorites including Carey Mulligan for An Education), Meryl Streep for Julia & Julia, and Michael Stuhlbarg for A Serious Man. Jason Reitman's 'Up in the Air' and Spike Jonze' 'Where the Wild Things Are' each scored six nominations including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay.

'Grey Gardens,' 'Every Little Step' & GLEE Win Satellite Awards

The Golden Satellite Awards ceremony was held December 20 at the Grand Salon of the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, California. Winners include the HBO film Grey Gardens, and the documentary film 'Every Little Step' which chronicles the 2006 revival of A Chorus Line. Glee took home four awards: Best Comedy or Musical Television Series, Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Television Series (Lea Michele), Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical Television Series (Matthew Morrison), Best Acress in a Supporting Role for Television Series (Jane Lynch) and Best Guest Star (Kristin Chenoweth).

25th Annual Independent Spirit Award Nominees Announced

Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Festival, announced nominations this morning for the 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards. Nominees for Best Feature include (500) Days Of Summer, Amreeka, Precious, Sin Nombre and The Last Station. Taraji P. Henson and Matt Dillon also announced finalists for the Acura Someone to Watch Award, the Truer Than Fiction Award, and the Piaget Producers Award. A Serious Man was selected for the Robert Altman Award, which is given to one film's director, casting director and ensemble cast.

The Golden Satellite Nominations were announced today and the film version of Maury Yeston's 'Nine' received 11 nominations, inclduing Best Motion Picture and Best Director for Rob Marshall. As previously reported, Tony and Emmy winner Mandy Patinkin is set to start in Yale Repertory Theatre's COMPULSION, in his Yale Rep debut. (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director).
