Red Bull Theater Announces 2010-2011 Revelation Readings; GAMMER GURTON'S NEEDLE 9/13

The Red Bull Theater announces its 2010-2011 Revelation Readings. Some actors and actresses involved in the readings include Maria Dizzia, Jessica Hecht, Jan Maxwell, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mary Testa, and Michael Urie. All readings are on Mondays at 7:30pm, except as noted, and take place at Theater at St. Clement's, 423 West 46th Street, between 9th & 10th Avenues. (Cast and details Subject to Change.)

Garber, Wilson, Mantello Lead Grey-Helmed 'Normal Heart' Reading, 10/18

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that the first cast members are in place for the Joel Grey-directed, 25th anniversary staged reading of Larry Kramer's ground-breaking play, The Normal Heart, at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street) on Monday, October 18 at 7:30 p.m. Victor Garber, Jason Butler Harner, John Benjamin Hickey, Joe Mantello, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Patrick Wilson are set to star in the one-night-only event on Broadway that will benefit The Actors Fund and Friends In Deed. Additional casting news will be announced shortly. This reading comes on the heels of the sold-out, acclaimed reading of The Normal Heart at Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse in September, which was also directed by Mr. Grey.

Patinkin Leads COMPULSION at Berkeley Rep, 9/16-10/31

Even as its shows reach New York and London, Berkeley Repertory Theatre begins another season of fearless theatre here at home: Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Mandy Patinkin stars in the world-premiere production of Compulsion on Berkeley Rep's intimate Thrust Stage. Acclaimed director Oskar Eustis returns to the Bay Area with Rinne Groff's latest play, a kaleidoscopic collision of history and culture that combines stellar acting with marvelous marionettes. Compulsion, a world-premiere co-production from Berkeley Rep, The Public Theater, and Yale Repertory Theatre, begins previews on September 13, opens September 16, and closes October 31.

Jenen, will honor their board member Rosemarie Tichler, the highly-respected producer, casting director, teacher and author, at this year's annual benefit gala Monday evening, May 17 at Twenty Four Fifth. The Honorary Chair for the evening is Mike Nichols and Honorary Co-Chairs are Olympia Dukakis, Dianne Wiest, Walter Bobbie and James Lapine. Honorary Artists include F. Murray Abraham, Christopher Durang, Michael Greif, John Guare, Bill Irwin, S. Epatha Merkerson, Mandy Patinkin, Wallace Shawn and Michael Stuhlbarg.

The Barrow Group Theatre Company presents its 16th Annual Celebrity Doodles Auction & Gala on Monday, May 10th, 2010. Each year celebrities donate their artwork, or doodles, that are auctioned off in this annual fundraiser, at which The Barrow Group also honors individuals for their service to the arts and TBG. This year's honorees include Jon Marans and David Diamond.

On Monday, April 19, the stars came out to celebrate the 11th Anniversary of WET Productions, a non-profit dedicated to empowering women in the arts and media, at their Love Gala. Love was a one night only benefit performance of short plays on love, written by some of the hottest women writers in film, theater and TV and performed by celebrated actors. WETs notorious annual Gala followed the presentation. BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration.
