Summer is on its way out, but Connecticut theaters are heating up with some exciting offerings this fall.
Theater lovers have the best of both worlds here in the Nutmeg State: Broadway is just down the road, but we never even have to leave home to see exceptional theater thanks to the bevy of professional theaters that call Connecticut home too. This season looks particularly exciting and I'll share with you what I am most looking forward to reviewing this fall. There are other great shows scheduled this fall as well as through the 2016 season, but in the interest of space, I will concentrate on top picks for this fall.

The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents and marketing professionals, presented the 5th annual Off Broadway Alliance Awards on June 16th at Sardi's, honoring outstanding achievement in Off Broadway theatre for the 2014 - 2015 season. Honorees were on hand to receive their awards and Arthur Gelb, Judith Malina and Marian Seldes were posthumously inducted into the Off Broadway Hall of Fame.
FAULT LINE THEATRE has announced AT THE TABLE, a new play written and directed by GLAAD Award-Winner MICHAEL PERLMAN (From White Plains). AT THE TABLE begins previews on June 13, 2015 on the Mainstage at HERE ARTS CENTER (145 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10013), with an opening night currently scheduled for June 21, 2015. Last night at the 13th Annual Craig Noel Awards in San Diego, CA, Fiasco Theater's critically acclaimed production of Into the Woods won the Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Touring Production. The ceremony was held at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in La Jolla, CA.
