The Museum of the Moving Image's popular series See It Big! will turn its focus to the movie musical with a fourteen-film celebration of the genre, from January 24 through February 28, 2014. The Laguna Playhouse will welcome local author Robert Hilburn, author of Johnny Cash: The Life, on Saturday, January 18, at 1 PM and 6:30 PM. Hilburn is appearing in conjunction with The Laguna Playhouse production of the musical RING OF FIRE, which features close to 30 of Cash's most well-loved songs. Hilburn will speak about his book, answer questions, and sign books. As music critic for the Los Angeles Times, Hilburn knew Cash well throughout his life.
