La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club has announced its 2024-25 season, which will feature dozens of new works from around the world, including new works by Richard Foreman, Belarus Free Theatre, and more.

The Forty Hour Club, a resident company of the famed La MaMa Experimental Theater Club in NYC will stage 'The Ahab Inside Me-Redux'-an original Blues Opera written by Maine and La MaMa Playwright Michael Gorman. The Opera will premiere at the historic Colonial Theater in downtown Augusta, Maine, July 20-23.

Second Stage Productions presents Two Thousand Miles, a new musical conceived by Alyssa Williams, on Saturday, January 25th and Sunday, January 26th at 8:00 PM at The BACCA Arts Center in Lindenhurst, NY. LA MAMA - the 2018 Tony Award winning theater - will present the world premiere play-CHASING THE NEW WHITE WHALE, by newly appointed "Playwright in Residence" MIKE GORMAN, at the Ellen Stewart Theater (66 E. 4 St.) in the East Village,November 24 - December 9, 2018.  Previews begin Saturday November 24 prior to a press opening night on Monday November 26.

The 21st Annual Arpa International Film Festival (Arpa IFF), being held at Hollywood's historic Egyptian Theatre from November 2 to 4, has announced the lineup of 46 films from 17 countries being screened this year. Arpa IFF will once again highlight a diverse range of films that explore themes such as genocide, war, feminism, family dynamics, environmentalism, music, art, adoption, intersectional identities, and LGBTQ issues.

Maine State Music Theatre is bringing bellbottoms back for its third show of the season, Saturday Night Fever. This platform-tapping flashback runs from July 18 - August 4.

Theatre Aspen announced casting for the organization's upcoming season of summer shows, which includes Hairspray, Sex with Strangers and The World According to Snoopy.

Now IS the time to seize the day! BroadwayWorld has learned that Disney will film NEWSIES this August, at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Returning for the filming will be original Broadway cast members Jeremy Jordan and Kara Lindsay. The production, currently on tour plays the Pantages from Aug. 30, 2016 - Sept. 4, 2016. There is no word yet if the production is headed towards the big or small screen, or who else might be joining or re-joining the cast for the filming.

Casting has been announced for the Charlotte engagement of Disney's  NEWSIES.   The Tony® Award-winning production will begin performances at Belk Theater at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, August 9 for a limited engagement through Sunday, August 14. 

Broadway In Chicago is pleased to announce casting for the Chicago engagement of Disney's NEWSIES. The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W Randolph) on Thursday, July 28 for a limited engagement through Sunday, August 7.

The touring cast of Newsies will perform the song 'Santa Fe' live from Santa Fe, NM on Monday, June 20. The event will be streamed to Disney's Facebook page beginning at 1 PM EST and will last approximately 20 minutes, according to Variety.

Casting has been announced for the Vancouver engagement of Disney's NEWSIES.   The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on Tuesday, July 5 for a limited engagement through Sunday, July 10. 

Now after more than a year, NEWSIES' North American First National Tour is nearing its conclusion, finally stopping at Orange County's Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through May 29 (the musical will motor down to San Diego the following week). After seeing the original Broadway production in NYC and then seeing its Los Angeles debut at the Pantages Theatre last year, experiencing this exuberant, high-energy, smile-inducing crowd-pleaser again here in my own home turf felt like a special gift. NEWSIES is a fun, uplifting night at the theater... and continues to be in subsequent, multiple viewings. With its winning combination of incredibly acrobatic dancing, family-friendly comedy, engaging story, awesome singing, and dazzling showmanship, there is a lot to love with this show---whether you're 5 or 95. Heck, it certainly made a #Fansie out of me.
