KM Fine Arts Announces AN OCEAN BENEATH SEA

KM Fine Arts is pleased to announce An Ocean Beneath the Sea, a solo exhibition of new hyperrealist paintings by Ramsey Dau, on view from November 3, 2016 - December 23, 2016 at the gallery's West Hollywood location at 814 N. La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90069. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, November 3, from 6-9pm with the artist in attendance. A catalog will accompany the exhibition and feature an essay by Arty Nelson.

Milwaukee Art Museum Announces Dr. Marcelle Polednik as New Director

MILWAUKEE, May 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/The Milwaukee Art Museum board of trustees announced today it has selected Dr. Marcelle Polednik as the first Donna and Donald Baumgartner director. Polednik, currently the director and chief curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, joins the Museum at a significant time in its history after an extensive $34 million renovation, reinstallation and expansion project, and the historic acquisition of the O'Donnell Property. Polednik was selected after a robust national search from a field of dozens of candidates. She is expected to start working at the Museum in mid-August.

Lantern Theater Company to Present 36 VIEWS

Lantern Theater Company closes its 2015/16 season with the Philadelphia premiere of 36 Views by award-winning playwright Naomi Iizuka. Directed by longtime Lantern artistic collaborator Peter DeLaurier and featuring scenic, sound, and projection design by Jorge Cousineau, 36 Views runs May 26 - June 26, 2016. Blues and Jazz Vocalist Madeleine Peyroux to Perform at Syracuse Stage Gala

Madeleine Peyroux, a blues and jazz singer often compared to Billie Holiday, will perform live in concert at Gala 2016, Syracuse Stage's major annual fundraiser. The event will take place on Friday, June 10 in Goldstein Auditorium at Syracuse University's Schine Student Center.

Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival to Present HENRY IV, 8/19-31

This summer, as the world celebrates the 450th birthday of William Shakespeare, the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival celebrates two dates of their own - the 150th anniversary of the first full Shakespeare play produced on campus and the 15th season of the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival (NDSF). "We're honoring our 1864 kinsmen by producing Henry IV, the same title performed by Notre Dame 150 years ago," says Grant Mudge, Ryan Producing Artistic Director for the Festival. A tale of rebels and rebellion, Henry IV explores the journey of a prodigal prince torn between two fathers - an ailing king and an errant knave.

Michael Goldberg Will Guest Direct Northwestern's 2014 WAA-MU SHOW

Not only has Northwestern University's 83rd Annual Waa-Mu Show snagged Joseph Jefferson ("Jeff") Award-winning Chicago-based director and actor Michael Goldberg to guest direct this year, the musical confection is partnering with Andy's Frozen Custard. The downtown Evanston store is creating a special Waa-Mu Concrete that will be available to sweet-loving Waa-Mu fans.

First Folio Theatre to Stage World Premiere of CYMBELINE, 6/19-7/21

First Folio Theatre (Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83), will present the rollicking World Premiere of SHAKESPEARE'S CYMBELINE: A FOLK TALE WITH MUSIC, previewing June 19, opening Saturday, June 22 at 8:15 p.m., and running through July 21, 2013. This wondrous new version of the timeless Shakespearean folk tale has been moved to Civil War Appalachia and includes 10 original songs featuring beautiful bluegrass melodies. SHAKESPEARE'S CYMBELINE: A FOLK TALE WITH MUSIC is adapted by First Folio Theatre's Executive Director and Jeff Award-nominee, David Rice, with Music and Lyrics by Rice and Michael Keefe (First Folio's Resident Composer). Michael Goldberg (The Madness of Edgar Allan Poe, Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing and A Midsummer Night's Dream at First Folio Theatre) directs the "Shakespeare Under the Stars" production, which concludes First Folio Theatre's smash hit 2013 season. It will appear on the outdoor main stage situated on the scenic slopes of the historic Mayslake Peabody Estate.
