Marin Mazzie Joins Cast of 54 SINGS BIG RIVER

54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, has announced Tony Award nominee Marin Mazzie (Bullets Over Broadway, Next To Normal, Kiss Me Kate), as the latest addition to the starry cast of '54 Sings Big River.'The one-night-only event takes place this Sunday, September 14 at 7PM and 9:30PM.

Eight veteran actors, directors, writers, choreographers and producers have created FWD Theatre Project ("Festival of Works in Development"), a grass-roots initiative for the discovery, development and delivery of original musical theater to the Chicago community. Artistic Director Amber Mak along with Collective Artistic Associates Justin Brill, Wade Elkins, Michael Gillis, Karen Multer, Steve Multer, Missy Greenburg and Scott Sowinski, have announced LaunchingFWD!, a one-night-only concert event at City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph Street, Monday, September 22 at 8 pm (doors open at 6 pmfor food and cocktails).

Max McLean, Artistic Director of Fellowship for Performing Arts, announces that C.S. Lewis' THE GREAT DIVORCE will be presented at the Cullen Theater at Wortham Center, 501 Texas Avenue in Houston, tonight, August 15 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, August 16 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. This journey to Heaven and Hell is a provocative exploration of human nature, featuring vivid characters drawn with Lewis' trademark wit.

MetroStar Top 5 to Begin Two-Week Finale on Monday

On Monday, in one of the most competitive MetroStar competitions to date, five finalists were selected to move on to the two-week finals of the 7th annual MetroStar Talent Challenge. The five finalists, who will go head-to-head the next two Mondays, August 18 and 25, are Joanna Morton Gary, Lindsey Holloway, Leah Jennings, David LaMarr and Kristoffer Lowe. The Top 5, narrowed down from a group of nine semifinalists, are the last singers singing from an initial pool of 48 when the 8-week competition began on July 7.

In recent weeks the cast and creative team of the new musical Queen Mother, which chronicles the life of Hannah Hill, Charlie Chaplin's troubled mother, have been in residence on the Goodspeed Musicals campus in East Haddam, Conn. The team assembled to develop this engaging piece in preparation for upcoming invite-only industry workshops at New York Live Arts on Thursday, July 31 and Friday, August 1, 2014. Broadway's Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast) and Katie Klaus (The Bridges of Madison County, Bonnie and Clyde) lead the cast.
