An Evening of Classic Broadway comes to NYC's Metropolitan Room as a benefit for The Actors Fund tonight, October 27th at 7PM. Tony Award-winner Daisy Eagan (THE SECRET GARDEN) and leading Broadway performer Sean McDermott join the line-up.  Michael Lavine serves as host and musical director.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. The final night of this year's estimable Cabaret Convention, What I Did for Love/Taking a Chance on Love, hosted by Klea Blackhurst, saluted composer/songwriter Vernon Duke in Act I and composer/conductor Marvin Hamlisch during Act II. It was a curious pairing, indeed.

Fellowship For Performing Arts announced today full casting for the New York premiere of C.S. LEWIS' THE GREAT DIVORCE, the first show in its inaugural 2015/2016 New York season at The Pearl Theatre (555 West 42nd Street).

Fresh off its world-premiere run in Minneapolis, where Star Tribune declared "Akeelah and the Bee triumphs," Children's Theatre Company's new production about an 11-year-old spelling prodigy comes to Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater. The show is adapted for the stage by veteran playwright Cheryl L. West (Arena's Pullman Porter Blues, Jar the Floor), who partners with celebrated director Charles Randolph-Wright (director of Broadway's Motown and an inaugural resident playwright with Arena Stage, where he premiered his play Love in Afghanistan). Akeelah and the Bee runs November 13-December 27, 2015 in the Kreeger Theater.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Jessica Keenan Wynn in "Unlimited" on Monday, October 5, 2015. Currently starring on Broadway as Cynthia Weil in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Jessica will bring her very first solo show to 54 Below!

WAM Theatre has announced the casting for their fall production of Holy Laughter by Catherine Trieschmann. The production will be directed by Megan Sandberg-Zakian and opens on November 1, on the St. Germain Stage at Barrington Stage Company's Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center in Pittsfield.

Stars of New York's Cabaret and theatre worlds will perform the songs of renowned composer/arranger Larry Kerchner in the fourth edition of 'Hidden Treasures: Songs of Larry Kerchner.'

The latest rendering, "Hidden Treasures IV," debuts at Birdland on SUNDAY, MAY 31st, 6 p.m. featuring the best of the best of Broadway and Cabaret performers, including Klea Blackhurst (host), Mark Nadler, Alexis Cole, Jim Brochu, Carol J. Bufford, Natalie Douglas, Eric Michael Gillett, Marissa Mulder, Stacy Sullivan, Shana Farr, Karen Oberlin and many more. Tex Arnold musical directs.

New York Cabaret Community Honors Actor/Director/Photographer RUSS WEATHERFORD With All-Star Show at Metropolitan Room.

The singer, songwriter and recording artist Carolyn Montgomery-Forant continued her recent comeback as performed her critically acclaimed 'Visible Phoenix' at the Laurie Beechman Theater, 407 West 42nd Street, a show which took off in October. The flame-throwing wit's first solo show since returning to the stage in January of last year, 'Visible Phoenix' marches on Fridays, March 13, and April 10. All shows are at 7pm. DUCK COMMANDER MUSICAL, which had its World Premiere at the Crown Theater inside Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on April 15th, will be closing its doors earlier than planned.

'Big, bold and beautiful' vocalist and U.S. Navy Veteran, Kim Sutton, brings her show, 'Anchors Away,' back to New York for Fleet Week. Sutton uses her experiences in the military of the 1980s as the platform for an ebullient and touching look at Navy life for a teenage girl of limited means who made the choice for service as a route to education and adventure.
