A customer recently walked into that store and bought an entire display in the Children's section, including every single children's Christmas book available, a purchase of hundreds of books and further proof that the book business is alive and well across the country. To make this a heartwarming holiday story, the books will be given as gifts to children from a local Native American group, the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. The customer, representing the education department of that group, bought the books with a goal of instilling a love of reading in children and starting new holiday traditions for families. Almost 500 children from the Poarch Band of Creek Indians will receive at least one new book to read and discover during the Christmas season, ensuring that books are at the heart of their holidays this year.
