La Jolla Playhouse is pleased to bring back for a seventh year its acclaimed play development initiative, the DNA New Work Series, a weekend of readings of new works, taking place May 2 - 5, 2019 in the Playhouse's Rao and Padma Makeneni Play Development Center (PDC) and Seuss 1 rehearsal spaces.

The Lark has announced its BareBones program will return this season with a workshop production of On Every Link a Heart Does Dangle; or Owed by Tim J. Lord, directed by Meredith McDonough. The play, a radical reimagining of the Oedipus myth, will run at The Lark's BareBones Studio from May 10-19, 2019, at 311 West 43rd Street, 5th Floor, in New York City.

The Drama League has announced the twelve stage directors who have been selected as the 2019 Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project: NJ Agwuna, Sharifa Elkady, Raz Golden, Chika Ike, Rebecca Marzalek-Kelly, Ismael Lara, Jr., Amanda McRaven, Lindsey Hope Pearlman, Ben Randle, Tai Thompson, Gabriel Torres, and Sophia Watt. They will be publicly introduced to the professional theatre community during the 85th Annual Drama League Awards, which will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square (1535 Broadway). Actors Theatre of Louisville announces The Santaland Diaries, by David Sedaris, adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello, and directed by Associate Artistic Director Meredith McDonough, onstage from November 15-December 23. Described last year as "the adventurous yuletide theater-goers should check out!" by Arts Louisville, Sedaris's holiday tale will play to new audiences with an increased number of performances, in the 159-seat Victor Jory Theatre.
