The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, has announced show only tickets are now available for the 28th Oscar Hammerstein Award Gala honoring 2019 Tony Award winner André De Shields (Hadestown) with the 2019 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre and producer Riki Kane Larimer (Cagney) with The York Theatre Company Founders' Award on Monday evening, November 11, 2019 at The Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).

Joining them are guest vocalist Jeannine Otis and tap dancer DeWitt Fleming. Doors open at 5pm; performance at 5:30pm.

Tap dance workshops, performances and special events herald the return of the American Tap Dance Foundation's Tap City, the NYC Tap Festival, the week long tap dance festival celebrating its 19th year in tap's hometown, New York City. The 2019 festival week, Saturday, July 6 through Friday July 12, will include Tap Treasures, a walking tour of the Broadway Theater District and Radio City Music Hall; Tap Ellington, a tribute to the jazz legend and his contribution to the art of tap dance; Rhythm in Motion, a boundary breaking take on tap by NYC's finest tappers & choreographers; the ATDF Tap Dance Awards and a Tap City cruise around Manhattan with a live band and tap jam performances. *Full lineup below.

THE MAESTRO'S 120TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AT THE DUKE ELLINGTON MONUMENT, on Sunday, April 28, 2019, 1PM to 3PM, is a free all-Ellington theatrical music presentation at The Duke Ellington Monument, that stands majestically at the Frawley's Circle in Central Park (corner of 110th Street and 5th Avenue), the Gateway to Harlem. Mercedes Ellington,  producer, performer/choreographer, Ellington's granddaughter is the Founder & Artistic Director of DECFA.
