Salt Lake Acting Company Premieres FORM OF A GIRL UNKNOWN

Salt Lake Acting Company (SLAC), Utah's leading destination for brave, contemporary theatre, presents the world premiere of FORM OF A GIRL UKNOWN by Charly Evon Simpson. The atypical coming-of-age dramedy is being produced in SLAC's Upstairs Theatre October 16 through November 17, 2019.

Westport Country Playhouse's New Works Initiative Continues In Fourth Consecutive Year

Westport Country Playhouse's New Works Initiative (NWI) continues in its fourth consecutive year of developing new plays and musicals with playwrights, directors, and other artists, culminating in readings before an invited audience. The NWI 2019 Season kicked off on Wednesday, June 12, with a private reading of the new play, "form of a girl unknown," written by Charly Evon Simpson, and directed by Melissa Crespo. 

Sol Project Announces Second Annual SolFest: A Latinx Theater Festival

The Sol Project, the national theater initiative dedicated to amplifying Latinx voices and building a body of work for the new American theater, is proud to announce dates for the second annual SolFest: A Latinx Theater Festival, produced in partnership with Pregones/Puerto Rican Traveling Theater (Pregones/PRTT). WP Theater Announces Reading Series; ANTIGONE PROJECT, AYE, AYE, AYE I'M INTEGRATED, and More

WP Theater, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Lisa McNulty and Managing Director Michael Sag, is thrilled to announce the inaugural WP Theater's 40th Anniversary Reading Series. In the first outing of this annual series, past meets present as WP shares staged readings of five extraordinary plays from throughout its history, directed by recent alums and current members of the WP Theater Directors Lab. The 5-night free series will launch on Monday, March 25 and run through Friday, May 3, 2019 at WP Theater, 2162 Broadway at 76th Street. 

Theatresquared Announces 2019 Arkansas New Play Festival Lineup

TheatreSquared Artistic Director Robert Ford and Executive Director Martin Miller announced today the lineup of new plays for the eleventh annual Arkansas New Play Festival. Five plays will be intensively developed by teams including the playwright, director, dramaturg, and professional cast for each project. Four will receive staged reading performances in Bentonville and in Fayetteville, including Ain't I A Woman by Na'Tosha De'Von, Carlo at the Wedding by Bryna Turner, He Did It by Rachel Lynett, and Teen Dad by Adrienne Dawes. The fifth project is Blanket Statements, a brand-new devised work by Northwest Arkansas's own LatinX Theatre Project, and will culminate in a fully staged workshop performance. With this collaboration, the Project and T2 are launching a new affiliation which extends artistic, production, and institutional support to the young company, supported by a major grant from the Walton Family Foundation.

Syracuse Stage Cold Read Festival Gets Hotter In Second Year

Now in its second season, the Cold Read festival has five different events featuring some of the freshest voices writing for theater today, both nationally and locally, scheduled for Thursday, March 7, through Sunday, March 10.

Strange Sun Theater will present Jessica Bashline's new play, WICKEDEST WOMAN, at the WP Theater on the Upper West Side, January 19 - February 2. The World Premiere is directed by Melissa Crespo with Opening Night slated for January 19. The limited run features a gender bending cast of 7 actors who have numerous Broadway and Off-Broadway credits.
