Global storytelling nonprofit The Moth announces the appointment of two new members of its Board of Trustees:  Entertainment and Technology Industry veteran Lisa Stewart Hughes and Financial Industry powerhouse Maybel Marte.

Global storytelling nonprofit The Moth announces the appointment of two new members of its Board of Trustees: multimedia storytelling and development executive Gabrielle Glore and Peabody Award-winning journalist and professor Dr. Chenjerai Kumanyika. The two join current Moth Board members in advising and supporting the nonprofit's programming in the U.S. and around the globe.

The Kitchen's Spring 2018 Gala celebrates Nan Goldin and Lydia Lunch, two iconic American artists whose careers were borne of, deeply influenced, and have now engrained in collective memory the underground artistic spirit and political underpinnings of pre-gentrification Downtown New York subcultures (May 16). The evening features performances by New York's own post-punk band Bush Tetras, saxophonist and vocalist James Chance, and Australian singer JG Thirlwell & Ensemble with special guests. The after-party, hosted by Nicolas Jaar, will include a DJ set by Veronica Vasicka as well as performances by Retrovirus along with Lydia Lunch.

On Monday, November 9, 2015, the New-York Historical Society presented Ron Chernow and Lin-Manuel Miranda with the distinguished 2015 History Makers Award during its annual History Makers Gala at Cipriani Wall Street.  The event featured a conversation with the honorees moderated by Charlie Rose and a special tribute to Richard Gilder, Trustee and Chairman Emeritus of the New-York Historical Society. More than 700 people were in attendance.
