Choreographer/dancer Rebecca Stenn and photographic artist/creative director George Del Barrio began their collaboration almost 20 years ago with a series of photographs. Their work together has since grown and flourished and manifests itself now with the creation of Elusive Bird, the final portion of their trilogy of evening length performances at Gowanus Loft.

The program features World Premieres by Bessie Award Nominee and company member Nicholas Sciscione, and Yin Yue. Works by Al Blackstone, Raja Feather Kelly and Christopher Williams complete the program. Sciscione will perform his solo work and Ofer Pelz his original composition at all performances. The 2018 Dance-mopolitan Artist Series, produced by DANCE NOW, presents Megan Williams Dance Projects in ONE WOMAN SHOW, a post-postmodern dance theater follies for the small stage. Megan Williams finds the roots of her aesthetic DNA in the proto-feminist female archetypes of 30s, 40s and 50s Hollywood and uses them as a lens to view the experience of the 21st-century woman-of a-certain-age. Part memoir, part spectacle, ONE WOMAN SHOW aims to grab the moment and hold on tight. The work features celebrated dance artists Esme Boyce, Robert Mark Burke, Derek Crescenti, Dylan Crossman, John Eirich, Kristen Foote, Chelsea Hecht, Courtney Lopes, and Megan Williams. With costume design by Barbara Erin Delo and sound design by Sam Crawford.

10 Hairy Legs, the all-male repertory dance company extends its footprint during its sixth season of performances and educational programming, appearing in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Florida, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Vermont, as well as in its home state of New Jersey. Artistic Director Randy James noted, "We are pleased to have had such a positive and wide-reaching response from our presenting partners across the county to our vision of exploring the artistry of the male dancer. With more than 23 works in our repertory including 14 commissioned works, we bring a wealth of ways to investigate and illuminate the male role in dance today and to display the tremendous versatility of our company members while inviting interesting conversations about gender roles."

Acclaimed for its adventurous short-takes format, the annual DANCE NOW Festival presents an eclectic array of works by some of today's most exciting dance makers.
