On December 7th, 2015, Sing For Your Seniors hosted cast members from Paper Mill Playhouse's A CHRISTMAS STORY for the patients of Calvary Cancer Hospital in The Bronx. The musical performance included songs of the performers' choosing as well of songs from A CHRISTMAS STORY. Patients and their families, nurses, doctors and staff enjoyed a one-hour session as well as a meet-and-greet visit with the cast following the performance. Scroll down for photos from the event!

With construction now complete on their state-of-the-art scene shop and several new design/technology classrooms, the Kean University Department of Theatre has announced an ambitious season for the coming academic year. The 2015-2016 Department of Theatre season, slated to begin tonight, October 16th, will include the Greek tragedy Elektra; Children of Eden, a musical based on the first nine chapters of the Book of Genesis; Julius Caesar, Shakespeare's timeless political expose; and John J. Wooten's riotous farce, Kiss the Bride.

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents David Josefsberg in "The Devil Inside" on August 3rd at 7pm. The show is about "The Devil Inside" Mr. Josefsberg. Most people know David as a sweet, innocent, wonderful, decent human being (yeah right) but David also has a dark side. There will be some Jason Robert Brown, Stevie Wonder, and some Queen, but there will also be some filthy, hilarious, off-color material written by Josefsberg himself.

Just last night, Paper Mill Playhouse opened the world-premiere musical Ever After, directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes, Nice Work If You Can Get It), featuring a book and lyrics by Marcy Heislerand music by Zina Goldrich. Ever After stars two-time Tony Award-winner Christine Ebersole (Grey Gardens, 42nd Street) as Baroness Rodmilla de Ghent, Tony Award nominee Tony Sheldon (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) as Leonardo da Vinci, Emmy Award winner Charles Shaughnessy (Urinetown, 'The Nanny') as King Francis, James Synder (If/Then) as Prince Henry and Drama Desk Award nominee Margo Seibert (Rocky) as Danielle de Barbarac.

Kean Department of Theatre's PETER PAN to Open 2/20

The Kean University Department of Theatre's 2014-2015 Season continues with the high-flying musical Peter Pan, opening Friday, February 20 in Kean's Wilkins Theatre. Based on the tremendously popular play by Sir James M. Barrie, Peter Pan will be directed by Department of Theatre faculty member Holly Logue with musical direction by Meg Zervoulis, choreography by Michele Mossay, lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, and music by Morris 'Moose' Charlap. The cast of Kean University students also includes two local children - Joshua Hunt of Cranford and Lucas Luchsinger of Elizabeth - who will share the role of Michael Darling.

The 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals, presented by the National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT), kicked off with THE 46TH MINUTE, a concert hosted by Lindsay Mendez and featuring performances by Heidi Blickenstaff, Doreen Montalvo, Mamie Parris, Bryce Ryness, and more. Musical presentations started October 23 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) and included Beautiful Poison, Cubamor, Great Wall, How To Break, Mary Marie, The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes, String and Stu For Silverton. Paper Mill Playhouse Launches New Education Initiative

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the launch of a new education service for high school students whose aim it is to study theater or musical theater in college. Paper Mill Prep is a college discovery and audition coaching program. "Paper Mill has an extensive statewide education and outreach effort that already has us working closely with the strongest young talent in New Jersey, and this extension of our Conservatory professional training program and Rising Star Awards will allow us to support these students as they begin the process of looking at college theater programs." shared Director of Education, Lisa Cooney. "Our goal is to help them determine and gain admission to the college programs that benefits them the most."
