Mayor Michael Bloomberg has declared Tuesday, August 28, 2012 "Richard Tucker Day" in New York City, marking what would have been the legendary Brooklyn-born tenor's 99th birthday.

To honor the individuals who have devoted time and resources to the important mission of shaping the lives of inner-city youth, the Eagle Academy Foundation will host its Annual 'Saving Our Sons' Breakfast on May 9 at Yankee Stadium's Legends Suite. This event is part of Eagle Week, a series of events from May 7-12, 2012 which highlights the importance of providing educational resources and community-based initiatives for inner-city young men to excel.
