Trinity Repertory Company announced today that celebrated stage and screen actor Kate Burton will be honored with the 2013 Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts at the 17th annual Pell Awards to be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 at Trinity Rep. The annual fundraising event will be co-chaired by Joe & Michele Madden and Elizabeth 'Beppie' Huidekoper. Mrs. Nuala Pell will serve as the event's honorary chair.
Swann Auction Galleries will offer a selection of Broadway drawings by caricaturist Al Hirschfeld during its sale of 20th Century Illustration on January 24. Among the Hirschfeld highlights is a signed and inscribed drawing of Fanny Brice Singing 'Modernistic Moe,' in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1936 (estimate: $3,000 - 4,000). This is one of the earliest Broadway illustrations.

As we approach the end of 2012 Broadway Dance World would like to pay tribute to those who passed away this year. Besides dancers they were teachers, musicians, scene designers, composers, administrators, writers, producers, scene designers and board members. Some were very prominent, others had fleeting careers. It does not make a difference. They gave of themselves and for that alone we owe them our gratitude.

The groundbreaking and internationally acclaimed dance company Pilobolus today unveiled a behind-the-scenes video of its new work, Aziumth. The piece will have its New York premiere tonight as part of Pilobolus's 2012 Joyce Theater engagement, which began performances on Monday, July 16, and runs through August 11. Tonight will mark the first performance of the engagement's Program B, which features Azimuth. Watch the video below!
