Battery Dance Festival To Feature 40 In-Person Performances In Celebration Of 40th Anniversary

Battery Dance celebrates the 40th Anniversary of its free summer festival from August 12-20, 2021, in partnership with Battery Park City Authority. The 40th Annual Battery Dance Festival features 16 international dance films from August 12-14 at 7pm ET via YouTube. 40 in-person and livestreamed performances will be staged at Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park, New York City, from August 15-20 at 7pm ET. In total, 32 premieres by 53 dance companies are offered to international audiences, promoting Battery Dance’s mission of connecting the world through dance.

Verona Quartet Releases Debut Album DIFFUSION

The Verona Quartet has released its debut album, Diffusion, on Azica Records. Through the intimate voice of the string quartet, Diffusion explores a mosaic of folk cultures through the lens Janáček’s String Quartet No. 2 “Intimate Letters,” Szymanowski’s String Quartet No. 2 Op. 56, and Ravel’s String Quartet in F Major M. 35.

Live Bard Music Festival Explores NADIA BOULANGER & HER WORLD

The Bard Music Festival returns for its 31st season this August, with a rare and intensive two-week exploration of “Nadia Boulanger and Her World.” In twelve themed concert programs, performed live with limited in-person audiences, Bard examines Nadia Boulanger (1887–1979), the pioneering Parisian pedagogue, composer, conductor, pianist, organist and indomitable personality who shaped more than a generation of American musicians.
