Leading Broadway producing company The Araca Group (Urinetown, SpongeBob SquarePants) has today announced they they've extended their arrangement with producer Michael Barra to lead their Media & Entertainment division.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, June 26 at 10:00am ET for SpongeBob SquarePants on Broadway at The Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway - Broadway at 47th Street). Preview performances begin Monday, November 6th with an official opening on Monday, December 4th.

Leading Broadway producing company The Araca Group (Urinetown, Wicked, Disgraced) today announced plans to launch a collection of Hollywood-inspired stage plays to be licensed to professional and amateur theaters around the world. 

Producers Work Light Productions (RENT, Mamma Mia!, Motown The Musical) and The Araca Group (Urinetown, Wicked), in association with Aged in Wood and Michael Barra, today announced that a stage production of the murder mystery comedy thriller CLUE will tour North America beginning in the fall of 2018.

This fall Lincoln Center Theater, in association with The Araca Group, will produce Pulitzer Prize winner Ayad Akhtar's new play JUNK, directed by Doug Hughes. The production will begin previews Thursday, September 14 and open on Thursday, October 12 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Leading theater production company The Araca Group today announced plans to bring the classic television series Family Ties to the stage, to be adapted by playwright and recent Kleban Award winner Daniel Goldstein.

Araca will be adapting the world's favorite family gaming brand, MONOPOLY, for Broadway. Monopoly: The Musical, Hasbro's first-ever Broadway production, is currently finalizing its creative team and will announce further details shortly.

On Friday, October 16, The Chernuchin Theatre, one of the theatres housed at The American Theatre for Actors (ATA, 314 West 54th Street, New York City) was named for beloved Broadway legend and two-time Tony Award winner John Cullum. He is best known as Holling, the bartender in 'Northern Exposure.'

John Cullum attended opening night of Fracture Theatre Company's production of URINETOWN, the show for which he originated the role of Caldwell B. Cladwell, then had the theater named after him in ceremonies following the performance. Also in attendance were the show's composer, Mark Hollmann, book writer Greg Kotis ( they collaborated on the lyrics) and Jennifer Laura Thompson, the original Hope Cladwell. Cast gathered on stage as Cullum was presented with a plaque. The two-time Tony-Award winner ( SHENANDOAH, ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY) saiid watching the show had transported him right back to Urinetown and that of all the theaters he has performed in, this theater, where the show got its start, would be his choice to bear his name.

In addition to the Pulitzer Prize, Disgraced received Obie and Joseph Jefferson Awards.

The Araca Group has announced the seven shows that will comprise the 2014 Araca Project season, lasting from September 7th until November 2nd at the American Theatre of Actors. American Theater Company announces a new partnership with The Araca Group (Broadway producers of Urinetown, Frankie and Johnny in the Claire de Lune, The Wedding Singer, Lend Me a Tenor, and A View From the Bridge, among others) in the development of new American plays in Chicago. The two organizations will partner to produce AracaWorks: Chicago, a weekend of readings of world premiere American plays from August 7-9, 2014 in Chicago. One of the three plays will receive a year of development, including a workshop production the following summer at ATC.
