BWW Review: Poignant, Dramedy CRUMBLE (LAY ME DOWN JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE) Opens Women's Theatre Festival
by Lauren Van Hemert - Jun 9, 2018

What do you get when you cross a grief-stricken mother, a bomb-making daughter, a crazy cat lady for an aunt, an apartment mourning for better days, and an apparition manifesting himself in the form of Justin Timberlake and Harrison Ford? Sheila Callaghan's play CRUMBLE (LAY ME DOWN, JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE), which is the first installment of The Women's Theatre Festival's (WTF's) third season. There is something comedic, poignant, and unexpected about CRUMBLE, which makes it a valiant start to WTF's 'Women as Heroes' third season. The show runs through June 24th at Burning Coal Theatre.

TAM's BARBER OF SEVILLE Reminds of Beaumarchais' Modernity
by Carla Maria Verdino-Süllwold - Jul 24, 2016

The Theater at Monmouth's new production of Pierre de Beaumarchais' delightful, provocative 18th century comedy, The Barber of Seville, (in translation by Elizabeth Griffith) sparkles not only with saucy wit, but also with a striking modernity. The first play from the French master's Figaro trilogy is a comedy of manners about marriage with the underlying theme - embodied in the wily Figaro - of class conflict. And though the historical context is Enlightenment France, Rosine's quest for self-determination and love and Figaro's cheerfully impudent challenging of a hierarchical society ring with relevance.

BWW Reviews: Laughs Come Easily in THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED)
by Larry Murray - Jul 13, 2014

The idea behind this show - which is pretty much a guaranteed hit wherever it has been produced - is to condense many of Shakespeare's masterworks into a two hour orgy of down to earth humor and outright fun. Opening with ROMEO AND JULIET and closing with HAMLET the trio led us on a merry chase through the classics, poking fun as they go.
