Performances begin tonight for The Sensuality Party, a new play by Justin Kuritzkes, presented by The New Group as part of the company's 2015-2016 season. This New York premiere, directed by Danya Taymor, features Catherine Combs, Jeff Cuttler, Katherine Folk-Sullivan, Jake Horowitz, Layla Khoshnoudi and Rowan Vickers.

Just this morning, Something Rotten and Spotlight star Brian d'Arcy James along with this season's break-out and genuflecting sensation Jennifer Simard from Broadway's Disaster announced the The Outer Critics Circle nominees for the 2015-16 season from New York's legendary Algonquin Hotel (59 W 44th Street.)  Outer Critics Circle nominations are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season.

The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 18 categories for the 31st Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Lortel Awards will be presented on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00 PM EST. This year's event will once again benefit The Actors Fund.

The New Group proudly presents The Sensuality Party as part of its 2015-2016 season. Off-Broadway's The New Group will honor Ed Harris & Amy Madigan and Ellen Roth at the company's Annual Gala on Monday, March 7 at Tribeca Rooftop (2 Desbrosses Street between Hudson & Greenwich). Hosted by Mario Cantone, the event will feature performances by Jerry Dixon and Nat and Alex Wolff, and an appearance by playwright Beth Henley, author of Crimes of the Heart and The Jacksonian. Music Director is Sinai Tabak. The evening, 6:00-10:00pm, includes cocktails, dinner, and silent and live auctions.

Tonight, February 22nd at 7 PM, Tom Kirdahy Productions and Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS present a benefit reading of STILL AT RISK, a new play by Tim Pinckney (Message to Michael, Ever So Humble) benefiting The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York City. Featuring a stellar cast from Broadway, TV and film, this one-night event will be directed by Carl Andress (The Tribute Artist, The Divine Sister).

Due to demand, The New Group has announced a second extension for Sam Shepard's Buried Child, now playing through April 3. Originally set to play through March 13, an extension through Sunday, March 27 was recently announced for this limited Off-Broadway engagement. Directed by Scott Elliott, this production features Taissa Farmiga, Ed Harris,Amy Madigan, Larry Pine, Rich Sommer, Paul Sparks and Nat Wolff. STEVE may not be a musical, but The New Group's production sure includes a lot of Broadway hits.

The New Group has announced full casting for the company's production of Sam Shepard's Buried Child. Directed by Scott Elliott, this production will feature Larry Pine (Casa Valentina), Rich Sommer ('Mad Men'), Paul Sparks ('House of Cards') and Nat Wolff (Paper Towns), and as previously announced, Taissa Farmiga, Ed Harris and Amy Madigan. Previews begin February 2 in advance of an Official Opening Night on Wednesday, February 17. A limited Off-Broadway engagement is slated through March 13 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).

The New Group announces a one-week extension for its world premiere of Steve, a new play by Mark Gerrard, directed by Cynthia Nixon.  Due to demand, Steve will now play through Sunday, January 3 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).  The production, which was originally set to play a limited Off-Broadway engagement through December 27, began previews November 3 and celebrated its Official Opening Night on November 18.

Just last night, the York Theatre Company honored Broadway and Hollywood legend Angela Lansbury with the 2015 Oscar Hammerstein Award for Lifetime Achievement in Musical Theatre. The evening's entertainment was directed by Kurt Stammc(York's Closer Than Ever; Our Sinatra), with music direction by Andrew Gerle (York's Closer Than Ever).
