The new production of HOWARD CRABTREE'S WHEN PIGS FLY, which was scheduled to open October 30 at Stage 42 (422 West 42nd Street), has been cancelled.

Lead producer Joshua Goodman (Come From Away) has announced that NewYorkRep has joined Louise Beard and Gene Fisch, Jr. on the producing team for HOWARD CRABTREE'S WHEN PIGS FLY.

The Schimmel Center presents American Dance Spectacular! on Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m., exploring the history of American popular dance throughout the 20th century, including the Charleston, Lindy hop, jitterbug, twist, voguing, and more. The performance is directed, co-written and created by Daniel C. Levine (Broadway's Les Mis rables, Chicago, and Mamma Mia!) with choreography by Al Blackstone (Fox's So You Think You Can Dance), music direction by Bryan Perri (Broadway's Wicked and Next to Normal), and book by Susan Batten (Lifetime's Showing Roots) together with six Broadway dancers backed by three vocalists and a live band.

Howard Crabtree's WHEN PIGS FLY, conceived by Howard Crabtreeand Mark Waldrop, book and lyrics by Mark Waldrop, music by Dick Gallagher, directed by Mark Waldrop, choreographed by Tony Award-nominee Denis Jones (Holiday Inn) and costumes by legendary nine-time Emmy Award-winner Bob Mackie ('The Carol Burnett Show'), will fly again Off-Broadway at Stage 42 (422 West 42nd Street, New York, NY 10036) with previews beginning October 6 and opening night set for Monday, October 30.

According to the show's official announcement, Bob Mackie will be returning to New York to design the costumes for the upcoming revival of the campy musical review, Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly. The show features book and lyrics by Mark Waldrop and music by Dick Gallagher.

Just yesterday, Monica Piper, star and creator of Not That Jewish, and company members celebrated their 200th performance at New World Stages prior to concluding at the end of this month. BroadwayWorld brings you photos from the festivities below!

Monica Piper's acclaimed off-Broadway comedy NOT THAT JEWISH, will play its final performance on Sunday, April 30. NOT THAT JEWISH began performances at New World Stages October 6, 2016, prior to an official opening on October 23, 2016. When NOT THAT JEWISH takes its final curtain call at New World Stages, the production will have played a total of 210 performances (including 17 previews).

Michael Riedel of the New York Post wrote an article voicing his concerns about the costuming of the upcoming revival of When Pigs Fly. Riedel looked back fondly on the original production, which opened in 1996 and was on of the longest running off-Broadway shows of its era.
